[H1]800+ items to find and somehow the [i]thinnest[/i] cats in existence[/H1]
Thanks to a wonderful friend of mine, I was able to get my hands on a copy of this game pretty quickly. So thank you again dear friend! That said, this is still an impartial review, as if I had paid for it myself.
So, the big question: is it worth the price? Honestly, not the full one for sure. On discount? It depends. If you compare it to other hidden cat games out there, there are stronger options even with the current 40% off, but if you’ve already cleared all your [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/4302270/FIND_KITTENS_10_Valentines_Day/?curator_clanid=45639970]FIND KITTENS[/url] and [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/2610090/A_Park_Full_of_Cats/?curator_clanid=45639970]Devcats[/url] backlog, this can definitely fill the void for a bit.
There’s a lot to like here. The placements are genuinely interesting, with many cats drawn in super fine lines that blend nicely into the environment. Everything is in color (except the cats of course), which makes the search pop a bit more. You’ve got great zoom, no penalty for misclicks, and over 800 items to find, so there’s plenty to click through. The cats are adorable, (and yes, you can pet the one in the main menu). QoL-wise, you get volume control, fullscreen, sensitivity slider, and even music you can change via a little disc player on the main menu.
Hints are unlimited and instant, and they don’t block achievements. They center the camera on what you’re missing (cats first, then the tuna cans), but they’re a bit hit-or-miss depending on your zoom level: sometimes they basically give you the answer, sometimes they’re not that helpful, so zoom according to the nudge you want. Achievements themselves are easy and follow normal progression, so nothing frustrating there. There is a save system, but it’s a bit tricky: it only keeps one active save, and if you hit “Play” instead of “Load Save,” you overwrite your progress instantly. It sounds simple, but it’s very easy to mess up.
On the downside, a few things feel missing. There’s no brightness option, no separate sliders for music and sound, and some cat shapes are a bit questionable (still recognizable, but you might giggle a bit). The bigger point is the price. Even with around 40 minutes to 100% (including taking my sweet time because I multitasked), it feels a bit steep compared to similar games offering more features or longer playtime (even at the current 40% discounted price). It’s not a bad experience at all, just one where the value really depends on how much you love this type of hunt. But one thing is sure: the full 9.99 $CAD is not worthwhile, so wait for an [i]important[/i] sale if you've got your eyes on this one.
