15 days? Probably the best game i've ever played, so many subtle details for a game that was released in 2010. Can't remember the story or the game but it's good 3/10
Very unlikeable characters and too many crashes for me. I only played it a little and the game did nothing to hook me or make me care about the characters at all. Also it has inconsistent direction. I was told it was time to go. So I try to go in the van, get told I got more to do in the loft. Maybe don't tell me its time to go then? Time to go means we leave now, not go lolligag around the loft more.
Story is so uninteresting that the game was DOA. Unfortunately, that's just the tip of the iceberg. Bad mechanics, eeeeendless dialogues (literally around 70% of game time), hated characters, many crashes. No wonder House of Tales closed down after that. It seems they were a one-hit-wonder (The Mystery of the Druids).
I am a fan of old-school adventure games, but this one is fairly tedious and there is not really a lot of classic adventure style puzzles. You are mostly just hunting the right pixels with the mouse cursor and trying all different actions to get the story to move.
I just cant get into this game, it looks like something I should like so i keep trying it but its just not keeping my attention. Boring, and the story just didnt make much sense , what i saw of it.
Its a mixed bag, -the graphics are really nice but the game seems locked to 60 fps -the UI and navigation are OK but the arrows can be a little disorienting and the combined main menu/inventory thing kind of finicky. -the voice acting is quite good but unfortunately some lines are recorded so low you will have to enable subtitles anyway, this is especially true when the character is talking through the radio -The characters and character building were good but there was still some further dept needed and some characters felt under used. -The computer interface aspect was novel and immersive but again arguably under used and for some people stability was a problem, especially with the search engine -While the story was fairly engaging some parts were just really silly (especially certain aspects of the heists) and you will be shouting at the monitor occasionally. Overall though the biggest problem is that the game really likes to crash. So save often. Luckily it seems when you encounter a crashy part simply pressing escape a few times to skip the sequence typically avoids the crash but of course you do loose out on some dialog and explanation. Ultimately if your a point and click fan then I still think you will still get something out of it and for that reason I recommend it. Get it on sale though.
