About
The Peabody Award winning 1000xRESIST is a thrilling sci-fi adventure. 1000 years in the future, humanity is all but extinguished and a disease spread by an alien occupation keeps the survivors underground. You are Watcher. You dutifully fulfil your purpose in service of the ALLMOTHER, until the day you learn a shocking secret that changes everything.

In the near future we learn we are not alone in the universe. A mysterious alien race of giant entities arrives. We call them the Occupants.
They are not hostile, but it doesn’t matter. Their arrival is a death sentence. Humanity is wiped out in a matter of months, succumbing to a disease the Occupants have brought to our planet.
There is one survivor, a teenage girl called Iris. Somehow she is immune.

1000 years later. Iris is not only immune but immortal. She has birthed a new society consisting exclusively of her own clones.
She calls them Sisters. They call her the ALLMOTHER.
Unlike the ALLMOTHER, the sisters are not immune. They must wear masks 24/7 to avoid breathing the diseased air even in the Orchard - an underground bunker where they live in constant fear of an Occupant attack.
The ALLMOTHER lives in her own compound on the front line of the war with the Occupants. All Sisters dream of one day being able to take the train and join her in the fight.

Within the Orchard, every sister has an assigned function, while six sisters have special roles to play…

Principal - Head of administration and oversight of the Orchard
Bang Bang Fire - Head of military
Knower - Head of knowledge preservation
Fixer - Head of engineering
Healer - Head of medical and cloning
And you - the new Watcher.
Your role is unique. You have the great privilege of reliving and interpreting the memories of the ALLMOTHER through a process known as Communion, made possible by Secretary, your floating AI companion.

As the game begins, you are excited to embark on your first Communion.
But all is not well.
Your closest sister, Fixer, comes to you with a dangerous revelation. You have been lied to. The ALLMOTHER is not what she claims to be.
Fixer’s claims rock the foundations of your world, throwing everything you know and believe into doubt.
After Fixer is executed for her treason, it falls to you to discover the truth.

Dive into the memories of the ALLMOTHER.
Explore pivotal moments in her life from high school days and the arrival of the Occupants to the creation of the Orchard and the birth of the first sisters.
Jump back and forth through moments in time within these memories to solve puzzles and access locked off areas and secrets.

In between Communions, explore the Orchard - a large underground hub area which houses you and your sisters, has many characters to speak to, and holds many things to uncover.
Find the truth and reclaim your legacy.

Experience perspective shifts both literal and metaphorical as the game blends between 3rd person adventure, visual novel and first person walking simulator while throwing twists, turns and revelations at you until you question everything you think you know.

The first two acts had me very very interested, but I'm sadly left a bit disappionted by the amount of pretentiousness for the message it was conveying.
I especially did not like the way they chose to do those different endings and the allegories of the different characters they used for it. I get the idea, but I felt let down by the fact that there was no real closure nor was there much room for interpretation. Maybe, though, that was the reason why this had to be a video game instead of any other medium.
That being said; I think it's incredibly important that this game exists. Even though video games have been around for quite a while now, it's still not nearly explored enough as a medium for expressing art and, dare I say, literature. Sure, we have had visual novels for a while now, but those have never really catered to the greater audience. This one, however, is a great attempt at doing so, and I definitely hope more people play this and/or other (future) devs will get inspired by it. Lastly; I will never get enough of methaphorical existential sci-fi, so it was by definition impossible for me to really dislike this. I will sit on it for a bit longer, but I can already assuredly say that this is a work of great importance, even though the ending left me a bit bummed out.
It took a little while to hook me in, but once it did it was well worth it. While a little rough around the edges at times, this game was one of the best interactive storylines I've had the fortune to play through. It covers some powerful themes and ideas with the time, weight, and introspection they deserve.
Main location is clearly inspired by navigating Citadel in ME1 judging by how it tested my patience. Generally a nice and interesting story that's worth seeing. With gameplay that makes it much less enjoyable than it could be
1000xResist confronts the player with a complex, non-linear mystery that spans several centuries through the eyes of a troubled protagonist. Its ambition lies in merging intimate, personal trauma with the clinical, ritualistic constraints of a high-concept science fiction society where memories are the only true currency available. Zipping between disparate points in time provides a revolutionary narrative tool that elevates the entire experience far beyond a standard adventure title. This mechanical hook allows one to inhabit the perspective of a deity-like figure while simultaneously grappling with the harsh, grounded realities of a teenager’s life. Dialogue within the Orchard feels suffocatingly precise, as the Sisters employ monotone and rhythmic speech patterns to signify their collective, cult-like devotion. Each individual function, whether a Watcher or a Healer, reinforces the feeling that these characters are trapped within an inescapable, duty-bound hierarchy designed to suppress individual desire. Navigating the expansive environments often leads to moments of genuine disorientation, as the lack of a traditional map forces players to rely entirely on intuition. Although this ambiguity occasionally generates frustration when searching for specific objectives, it effectively mirrors the protagonist's own profound sense of displacement and confusion. Communing with various Sisters serves as the primary progression loop, transforming simple information gathering into a deeply personal investigation of history. Players must actively engage with these NPCs to piece together the tragic motivations of the Allmother, which provides necessary context for the broader, overarching narrative puzzle. Obscure mechanics regarding logical puzzles can sometimes impede progress, particularly when the game demands an understanding of abstract concepts like the six-to-one rule. Persistence usually resolves these technical hurdles, yet the initial lack of clear instruction remains a noticeable friction point that might deter less patient explorers. Overall, this emotionally resonant journey succeeds by prioritising its sophisticated storytelling and thematic depth above traditional genre expectations. Despite minor navigation difficulties and early confusion, the payoff for unravelling such a dense, original mystery makes this an essential recommendation for anyone seeking a truly thought-provoking interactive experience.
It's as good as you've heard, with great writing, art direction and a memorable soundtrack.
Very weird and abstract game, but I enjoyed it a lot. Would recommend to people who enjoy a good story-heavy game without the combat.
1000xRESIST is not without flaws - it is very much an indie game. It's almost completely a walking simulator, with some frustrating pacing/layout in places. That said, it's also a supremely interesting stew of sci-fi elements and concepts, and the thematic result is quite tasty. It's the type that is immediately compelling on its own, but (like all good sci-fi) also serves to question actual philosophical and political ideologies in our greater lives. The story really IS quite good. It's not something I would recommend to everybody, but this is bound to be some people's thing. Given the lessons learned here, I can't wait to see what's next from this indie dev.
Não existe nenhum outro jogo como 1000x Resist. A história é tão grandiosa e ao mesmo tempo extremamente pessoal. Não posso recomendar para todos, mas é uma experiência linda. 10/10
