100 Hidden Kooky & Hiking Boots

If you are tired of looking for cats in the sea of HOGs on Steam, the [i]Kooky[/i] games offer you a solution. In their products the team wants you to look for people that behave in an [i]unusual[/i] way, as in unusual when it comes to the environment they are in. In [i]Kooky & Hiking Boots[/i], as the name implies, it's about hiking so you have people wandering in forests, climbing mountains etc. The map is quite big and it is divided up into different locations. There are a lot of people but not all of them need to be clicked on! But what is unusual? When, let's say, somebody dresses up as a knight or uses a bathtub as a boat. Some people just use certain facilities (such as a swimming pool) in a strange way. The description is slightly misleading as it implies that you only need to click on human beings but if you see a door carved into the rocky section of a mountain, that is also very, very unusual. Or the hand of a zombie in the middle of the forest. You have these 100 strange things to find and also - given the theme - 100 hiking boots. The latter has no associated achievement. Now, what I really like about the game is the hint function. There is only one available. Then, you have to do puzzles to acquire additional ones. But even these puzzle games have a cooldown so don't expect to be able to abuse the hint feature as it can be in many other HOG games. Even with this "difficulty" I would say for veterans of HOG games the majority of the strange stuff can easily be found in a short period of time. Also, the name of the achievements and their corresponding little picture can also be of great help here. Fun little game, highly recommended!

I haven't played any of the other [b]Kooky[/b] series of hidden objects games so I didn't know what to expect, but it was an interesting and different take on the genre. Instead of searching for a set list of objects, we are given no instructions apart from finding characters and objects that look out of place in the environment. I suppose that brings the dilemma of 'what is unusual?' and I did struggle in places determining what looked out of place and what looked normal. There were obvious characters out of place in silly poses or in ridiculous situations, and they were easy to detect, but there were also some subtle changes that were very hard to find. We are also asked to find one hundred hiking boots and these were challenging to find also. If you are struggling with finding the last few items or characters you can play a couple of mini games to earn you extra hints, and then the games go into a lengthy cool-down until you can play them again and earn more hints. The two games are very simple. One is a timing game where you have to stop the clock between ninety-seven and one hundred seconds, and the other one is a match two card game. They are both easy to complete and if you do fail you can just give it another go until you are successful. The hint takes you straight to the object so it is a dead giveaway. The map is quite big and is tall and narrow, but there is only one level and scene, and the game takes around thirty to forty minutes to complete. The map is black and white but when characters are selected they change colour so you know which ones are already picked. The scene is quite interesting with some comical moments being played out and some good art work. The music is very catchy and the game felt very relaxing to play. Search for characters that seem out of place or doing something strange and 100 hiking boots. Easier than it sounds! 100 Hidden Kooky & Hiking Boots by Developer Roshan Nowshad Search an interesting, large, hand-drawn scene for characters that look out of place in the environment. They could be dressed oddly or doing something strange. These kooky characters are cleverly concealed in plain sight amongst the others. The scene is done in grayscale with the kooky characters in yellow when you find them. The hiking boots change to blue when found. Sometimes, you have to click a few times to get it to recognize the click. Additionally, there are two mini-games where you can earn hints, that will show you where the strange characters or boots are hidden. One, you stop the clock between 97-100 seconds. The other is a match game. There is a longish time out until you can try again. It's not as easy as it seems! The game and music is so relaxing I fell asleep a few times. Not boring, just relaxing! The various music tunes are entertaining and upbeat and fits the game but is on a shortish loop. Short game about 30+ minutes. Has some different color modes which I forgot to check out but does sound interesting. This one is #four in the series. The next title in a casual series in which you search for unusual stuff. Unlike most comparable games in which you must find a specific animal, object, or something else, this game takes a different approach. What you're looking for are weird objects or situations that don't belong there. Except for the entirely new scene, which shows a huge hill with all kind of holiday activities, the game plays exactly the same as the previous title. The scene has one hundred “kooky” images, and each rewards you with an achievement. There are also one hundred hiking boots, but those are just a little bonus that aren’t required. This can be a bit tricky because you’re looking for things that you might see in real life but are not considered normal. So while a guy tied to a windmill, for example, is obvious, a guy sitting on a cow backwards doesn’t seem that strange. Fortunately, the game is a lighthearted diversion that doesn't punish wrong clicks. You can also replenish your hint by playing two minigames; a memory game and a game where you stop a watch to match the requirement. The system doesn’t allow you to make the game a walk in the park because you need to wait a few minutes before the minigame becomes available again.

Tolles Hidden Spiel! Hier hatte ich sogar etwas Herausforderung xD Man sucht hier ungewöhnliche Sachen - was nicht richtig ist wie z.B. eine Bank mit Reifen... xD Es gibt auch ein weiteres Item was man suchen muss - Schuhe! Je 100 Stück. Wenn man mal struggelt dann darf man Mini Spiele machen um sich Hints zu erarbeiten - find ich mal eine nette Idee.^^ + Erfolge

The game is fun until it isn't. That transition happened FAST. I play hidden object games to relax my mind. It tends to be a very calming experience. Until this game. Everything about he game is quite nice until you discover the mini games. They completely disrupt the calming experience I came to the game for. Not a fan of the games. Not a fan of the limited tries before you have to wait a few minutes to retry the mini game again. To me, not worth the annoyance for a single hint. For what, to prolong the length of time the player is forced to be in game?

Its really awesome game.I have seen a lot of games on 'find the odd one out'but this game is really different and interesting.It make me more and more eager to play the game.I am so involved in the game that I lost track of time.And yeah it is really a great and mind focusing game I have ever tried.It make me want to play again and again.I hope all those who tried this game will have the same excitement and interesting as me.

I like that I am looking for 100 different things, not 100 of the same, it forces me to actually look at what is happening at the picture, rather than my eyes just scouting for similar shapes. well, the hiking boots are the same item 100 times, but i don't mind that! there's more things to find, that is a bonus :)
