This game brings back so many childhood memories. As a child (with Dutch as first language) I never really understood story, but now I do. The game it self is really old, and runs in a MS DOS box. The cut scenes are poor quality for today's standard, but looking at it from a perspective from the time the game came out it is very well done. If you never played any Zork games in the past, and you are thinking about getting this game, keep in mind it is a game from 1996. If you are already familiar to zork games, go grab a copy. The sound does crack up a bit from time to time, and it restore itself after awhile, but that could probably be due to newer sound hardware. Lastly, since the game is about solving puzzles, and has no replay ability, once you complete the game. Even after 20 years and several play through's the game still gets a 10/10 from me.

It doesn't save but it's still so fun
when I was young I loved these games, but as I upgraded they were left further behind, until now. now I don't have to downgrade to play them. Thanx to Steam.
Great fun
This is one of my favorite oldies. After Zork 1 etc i still have the original games.
Es ist nicht möglich die Rotation einzustellen. So ist es unspielbar! Mir wäre es fast schlecht geworden vom ständigen Kreiseln
Very ridiculous game. It definitely starts fairly strong and logical, but begins to really fall apart after the 3rd area. The ending is rage inducing and spoils an otherwise passable game. This game is literally the Grim Reaper meme. Quicksilver Software Inc., Zombie LLC, and the CD Drive are all dead now. Hardly a coincidence. Who would have thought that the developers who went on to make Spec Ops: The Line would end up being so villainous.
If you need to slow down your processor, you can lower the TDP to 15W in the motherboard BIOS. Run also a CPU intensive program at the same time to further slow the CPU
I've only just started it, but the story and gameplay are as I remember. You may have to scale the speed back a little as the scroll speed for me is a little too out of control. Still, I'm glad to own this title again.
