At first i was skeptical of getting it because of the new art direction (I generally like the original style more) but I actually liked it the longer I played. I like the little story in there and the dialogues and hope there will be a sequel to this story after Zombotron reboot is released. Only things that really annoyed me is that it was hard to judge how far you need to get away from the barrels for safety and sometimes i was frustrated with the movement especially jumping (but I mean I had that with every Zombotron game so I guess it's a little quirk of these games) and weapon switching (I would think that I have switched the weapon but I didn't because i was still reloading the other one or for some other reason). Also the lack of automatic healing. I kinda got used to the fact that in Zombotron games the medkit is automatically used up when you are in danger of fatal damage and in general I would forget that I can heal myself throughout the game which made my inventory piled up with healing items. Now onto the skills. I never felt that they significantly changed the game and sometimes it honestly felt like it's not doing anything at all. For the first half of the time I was playing the game I was just adding points into vitality without really feeling the difference of having more health so I started adding all my points into strength and it was honestly hard to tell if it was the new weapon that was doing the killing or my strength skill. And i don't really get the point of the dexterity skill it really made me think it was a waste of skill points. I really like the new inventory system and letting you choose between different weapons/armors/grenades/healing items that you can decide to keep or not keep however because of the RNG of loot I basically got the best helmet in the game at the very beginning (and ok sure best will be subjective but I have not seen a better helmet than the madness mask) which kind of defeats the point of it. It would make more sense for it to be RNG when there would be more nuance to the items and if there were more items in the first place but generally there will be one that's obviously better than anything else in its category. Also the RNG in the shops is an odd choice. I think having shops have set items like in the originals would be better because sometimes dying and restarting the level could end up being beneficial as e.g. I would get the Big Daddy rocket launcher that made the fight with machine of war a piece of cake while previously I got the RPG 7 that was hardly helpful. Two more things I guess is that the story clearly shows a pattern at one point where you meet x guy that tells you that there is y creature causing trouble so you have to go kill it and we will give you z thing. That's basically the buildup for 3 out of 5 bosses in the game. The other thing is that I liked that you could take the diary cards etc. and read what sort of happened but it's only present at the start of the game and then this whole concept is abandoned later which is a shame because at first I thought I would be learning about some sort of lore of what happened through these cards or at least get like pieces of puzzles so I can figure it out by myself. One last thing that I wanna mention is that I have seen some people complain that you can't get to places when some boxes/barrels are destroyed. While that is true it's mostly to secret locations that are not necessary for you to progress in the game and usually if they got destroyed it's mostly because the shooting got messy rather than the enemies destroying everything. It hasn't bothered me that much and I still got to most secret locations but it never annoyed me to make me mad since it is a secret location after all and it's ok if you don't get to it. Other than that i genuinely loved the experience, it's a game I could boot up without having to think if I really feel like or want to play it and I haven't had a game in my library like that for a long time. People that didn't even have previous experience with the original flash games can enjoy this game to the fullest while fans of the series like me just get to enjoy how far this series has gotten because this feels like a major level up in terms of the quality of the experience.
