Rating: 2.5/10

Summary:
Valkeala Software, Valkeala Software....where do I even get started. I'll start with the one positive of this game which are the achievements, you get them by literally just playing the game. That being said, this is maybe one of the worst games of all time, but I'm glad I played it because I'm convinced if I were to be taken prisoner in war I can withstand any kind of torture since I played 23 minutes of Zombies in Valkeala.
Zombies In Valkeala is a simple yet atmospheric zombie-themed game. It has a unique charm thanks to its Finnish setting and locations. Despite its minimalism, the game draws you in — especially if you’re not expecting a AAA experience. Great for just relaxing and shooting some zombies.
Простенький проект, без отличительных черт (кроме неприятной музыки) , брать лишь для"количества" и по скидке.

Don't waste your money on this asset flip of a horrid game (if you can call it that). Only 2 weapons, pistol and sub machine gun, and the maps are barely filled with zombies. Though this was going to be like a horde/mercenaries kind of game but was just a random flip. The maps are clearly from different creators and there is nothing really to do. I should of known better after the price and even seeing the Steam Achievements
Avis Steam – Tao le Chasseur de Zombies Valkeala. On m’avait promis l’enfer. Des hordes de morts-vivants assoiffés de sang, des coins perdus infestés, une mission suicide. J’ai débarqué prêt à vider mes chargeurs et balancer des kicks de l’apocalypse. J’me suis retrouvé à faire du jardinage. Avec des zombies. C’est simple : ça manque de mordant. Littéralement. Les bots sont mous, l’IA a l’air de sortir d’un karaoké sous Lexomil, les combats manquent de tension. T’as une hache ? Super.

gooood vibe ^^
Zombies In Valkeala, developed by Tero Lunkka and Valkeala Software and published by Valkeala Software, is a minimalist third-person zombie shooter that leans heavily on simplicity and accessibility rather than depth or innovation. It presents a straightforward premise: you step into the role of Lara, a lone survivor tasked with clearing out zombie-infested areas across a small region. There’s little narrative framing beyond this setup, and the game quickly establishes that its primary focus is on moment-to-moment combat rather than storytelling or world-building. The gameplay loop is easy to grasp from the outset. Players are dropped into a series of compact environments where the main objective is to eliminate enemies while managing limited resources. Each location functions as a contained arena filled with roaming zombies, offering just enough space to move around and approach encounters from different angles. While the areas are technically open, they are relatively small and lack significant variation, which makes progression feel more like a sequence of similar challenges rather than a journey through a dynamic world. Combat is the core of the experience, built around a small arsenal that includes a knife, a pistol, and a rifle. The mechanics are simple and functional, allowing players to switch between close-range and ranged attacks depending on the situation. Enemy variety is present to a degree, with different zombie types introducing slight changes in behavior—some are slower and easier to manage, while others move more aggressively or create hazards upon defeat. These variations add a bit of tension, especially in crowded encounters, but they are not enough to fundamentally change how the game is played. Over time, combat begins to feel repetitive, as the lack of new mechanics or meaningful upgrades limits the sense of progression. Resource management adds a light survival element to the game. Ammunition and health items are scattered throughout each area, encouraging players to explore and remain mobile during encounters. Running low on supplies can create moments of pressure, particularly when surrounded by enemies, but the system remains fairly shallow. There is little strategic depth to how resources are used, and the game rarely forces players to make difficult decisions beyond basic conservation. Visually, Zombies In Valkeala reflects its low-budget origins with a simple, low-poly presentation. Environments are sparse and often repetitive, with limited detail and variation between locations. While this approach ensures clarity during gameplay, it also reduces the overall sense of immersion. Character models and animations are basic, and interactions lack the fluidity and impact that would make combat feel more satisfying. The aesthetic is functional, but it does little to elevate the experience or create a memorable atmosphere. Sound design follows a similarly minimal approach. Audio cues provide essential feedback for actions and enemy presence, but they are largely unremarkable. There is little in the way of ambient sound or music to build tension, which makes the game feel more like a straightforward action title than a horror experience. The lack of strong audio identity further contributes to the overall sense of simplicity. One of the most noticeable limitations of the game is its lack of long-term engagement. With only a few locations and a limited set of mechanics, the experience can feel repetitive after a short period of play. There are some incentives to replay levels, such as achievements and the challenge of improving performance, but these are not enough to significantly extend the game’s lifespan. It feels more like a brief, self-contained project rather than a fully developed title designed for extended play. Ultimately, Zombies In Valkeala is a modest and straightforward shooter that delivers a basic zombie-slaying experience without attempting to go beyond its scope. It succeeds in being accessible and easy to pick up, offering short bursts of action that can be mildly entertaining in the right context. However, its lack of depth, variety, and polish prevents it from standing out or maintaining long-term interest. It’s best approached as a quick, low-commitment diversion rather than a fully realized survival game. Rating: 5/10
