Warning: Asset Flip!
Zombie invasion is a Unity Asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", The Pens Den/Sandra Martin, took the Horror FPS Kit Unity Store game assets from the real developers, ThunderWire Studio, changed the name, slapped a few other stolen assets on it, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. It gets worse... "Horror FPS Kit" has also been shamelessly dumped on Steam by other asset flippers apart from The Pens Den/Sandra Martin:

"Apartament 1406: Horror", asset flipped by Airem
"Beyond The Evil", asset flipped by BlackHawk Games
"INDICTED", asset flipped by 616 GAMES
"Horror Manor", asset flipped by Downmeadowstreet/Spilled Coffee Games
"A letter to you!", asset flipped by Savage Howl Studio
"VERGE:Lost chapter", asset flipped by GDNomaD
Take a look for yourself... these are all exactly the same asset pack! The Pens Den/Sandra Martin has a known history of trying to scam people into paying them money for someone else's work. One example of The Pens Den/Sandra Martin doing this is Odyssey of the Explorer, which is really the "3D Game Kit" asset, written by the actual developers, Unity Technologies. Because this is an almost exact 1:1 copy + paste of the original Unity asset, it's in violation of the Unity Asset Store Terms of Service and EULA. Specifically, Section 2, Subsection 2.2.1a:
Subject to the restrictions set forth in this EULA, Licensor hereby grants to the END-USER a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, and perpetual license to the Asset solely:(a) to incorporate the Asset, together with substantial, original content not obtained through the Unity Asset Store, into an electronic application or digital media that has a purpose, features, and functions beyond the display, performance, distribution, or use of Assets ("Licensed Product") as an embedded component of that Licensed Product, such that the Asset does not comprise a substantial portion of the Licensed Product
Because the developer misused the asset pack such that it comprises the vast majority of this "game", the developer has unethically and deliberately breached the license agreement. Worse, this intellectual property violation was done in an attempt to profit from their illicit actions. Why is this permitted on Steam? The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Horror FPS Kit" is just an asset pack/template for making horror/shooter games that the developer combined with stolen medieval castle assets, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have, and make it harder for gamers to find real games from genuine developers. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from The Pens Den/Sandra Martin.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Maybe it will get better after a few patches, but the game right now needs a lot of work to be called a proper game. While the shooting part is at least satisfying, let’s forget the lack of depth and the dullness of the gameplay for now. Here are the issues I spotted on my 20 minutes of testing it out: There are issues with the ground terrain. The character’s feet collide with the toe-level scaffolding/decorative wooden planks/ rocks/ discarded wooden beams on the ground, when you try to walk around them at certain angles, either slowing you, or preventing you from advancing altogether. There is a prompt after each zombie wave that states: Press Enter to spawn the next wave. But the zombies spawn instantly regardless and you barely have time to shop with your options being either don’t shop/ or shop and get trapped in the store with waves entering the door. When you look towards the door leading to outside from inside the store building, there is a visual bug that makes the walls around the doorway disappear and reappear as zombies rash in. The same happens when you stand too close to walls, the wall becomes invisible and you can see through it. There is a little half-destroyed platform at a point on the map with a main pathway laying underneath it. Supposedly, it is there for the player to jump down to another pathway for a quick escape while leading the zombies as one can deduct from the platform's position, the proximity to the main pathway, the tiny descent to the main pathway and such. But there are a few toe-height bricks on your way at the end of said platform and while the character should be able to jump over them with ease the game acts as if there is an invisible wall there that can’t be crossed making the escape path obsolete. Opening the store menu to see items opens full screen sub menus that obscure your entire screen and mute world sound while real-time in game isn’t paused. Meaning you have no visual or audio cues to know if a zombie is currently killing you while you are purchasing things. Speaking of zombies, sometimes there is only one of them while the zombie count says there are 5 or more, and when it comes near you the zombie does a small dance and splits into a crowd of zombies. Not sure if this is intended or not. The zombies damage you by default, sometimes when they approach you but aren’t attacking you and you are far away from them, other times they swing at you and you back away 5 paces and they completely miss but you still get damaged by the attack. The axe from the game trailer doesn’t appear to be in the game. Other Suggestions: The game needs a melee move to finish off zombies while reloading. Maybe add some zombie variety with different armored parts: torso armor vest, helmet, for variety of gameplay and the illusion of progression. Certainly longer free durations between waves so you can shop and exit the shop.
