I mean, after watching the trailer I didn't expect much. But what I got was even below my expectations. The loading is tremendous if you think about the 20 assets that needs to be loaded in. It's not exceptable, even for a game made by 1 guy. All in all, the game is clunky and the core mechanics just don't work. I don't care if that guy is working alone, but he needs to shift his focus on polishing his game and the core mechanics instead of adding more unpolished stuff into it. I hit alt+f4 in the first level, because I was generous. Everyone else would leave at the tutorial already. I won't refund it for the dollar I bought it, because I know the troubles of Indies, but he deserves the negative review and I hope he understands he should fix the core mechanics and give me 1 decent looking level.

ZHUST - THE ILLUSION SOUL is a fantasy-themed action game developed and published by KT Games that embraces the spirit of classic hack-and-slash adventures. Built around high-speed combat, combo-driven encounters, and a straightforward narrative, the game places players in the role of Kan, a skilled blacksmith whose life takes an unexpected turn after forging a mysterious weapon linked to an ancient and dangerous power. What begins as a seemingly ordinary task quickly evolves into a journey filled with conflict, supernatural forces, and battles against increasingly powerful enemies. The game's story is relatively simple but serves its purpose well within the context of an action-focused experience. Rather than overwhelming players with lengthy dialogue or complex world-building, the narrative provides a clear motivation for the protagonist's quest. The mysterious Illusion Material becomes the catalyst for the adventure, drawing Kan into events far beyond his control. While the plot may not offer many surprises for veterans of fantasy games, it successfully creates a sense of progression and gives meaning to the numerous combat encounters that drive the experience forward. Combat is undoubtedly the strongest aspect of ZHUST - THE ILLUSION SOUL. The gameplay revolves around aggressive attacks, quick movement, evasive maneuvers, and chained combos that allow players to maintain constant pressure on enemies. Battles are designed to feel energetic and fluid, encouraging players to remain active rather than relying on defensive tactics. The responsive controls contribute significantly to the game's appeal, making it enjoyable to experiment with different attack sequences and combat strategies throughout the adventure. A notable feature is the variety of combo attacks available to the player. As new abilities and techniques become accessible, combat gains additional depth and flexibility. Players can string together attacks to create stylish offensive chains while taking advantage of openings in enemy defenses. This progression system helps keep the action engaging and rewards players who take the time to learn how different moves interact with one another. Although the combat system does not reach the complexity of major genre leaders, it offers enough variety to remain entertaining from start to finish. The fantasy setting provides a suitable backdrop for the action. Magical abilities, supernatural enemies, and weapon-based combat combine to create an adventure that feels inspired by both action RPGs and character-action games. The environments are varied enough to prevent the journey from feeling visually stagnant, even if they occasionally reveal the limitations of the game's modest production budget. The world itself is more functional than memorable, but it supports the gameplay effectively and maintains a consistent atmosphere. Visually, the game presents a mixture of strengths and weaknesses. Character models and effects often succeed in highlighting the intensity of combat, particularly during larger battles where flashy attacks and magical abilities dominate the screen. However, some animations and environmental details lack the refinement seen in higher-budget productions. The graphics are serviceable rather than impressive, but they manage to complement the fast-paced gameplay without becoming distracting. Players willing to accept the limitations of an indie project will likely find the presentation adequate for the experience being offered. One area where the game occasionally struggles is repetition. Because combat serves as the primary focus, players may notice recurring enemy encounters and familiar gameplay patterns as the adventure progresses. The limited scope of the project becomes more noticeable during longer play sessions, and some aspects of the level design could have benefited from greater variety. Nevertheless, the core mechanics remain enjoyable enough to carry the experience, particularly for players who appreciate action games that prioritize combat over exploration or storytelling. The soundtrack and sound effects contribute positively to the overall experience by reinforcing the game's energetic pace. Weapon strikes, magical attacks, and battle effects provide satisfying feedback during encounters, helping combat feel impactful despite the game's relatively simple presentation. Combined with the fast movement system, these elements help maintain momentum and make battles feel rewarding. ZHUST - THE ILLUSION SOUL may not possess the polish, scale, or production values of larger hack-and-slash franchises, but it succeeds in delivering a focused action experience that understands its audience. Its strengths lie in responsive controls, entertaining combat, and a progression system that encourages experimentation. While its narrative remains basic and some technical limitations are difficult to ignore, the game offers enough excitement to satisfy players looking for a budget-friendly action adventure centered on stylish battles and fantasy combat. Rating: 5/10
