If you’re itching for a Survival Horror Nostalgia hit in the face from the late 90’s, look no further! Seriously, this game is a lot of fun, yes it looks janky but it is supposed to look like an older game. Oh don’t worry, it does NOT have tank controls, it has a modern control scheme. 🧟♂️ survival horror throwback 🧟♂️ modern controls 🧟♂️ unlockable modes & costumes 🧟♂️ mix of The Thing/Resident Evil If you’re still on the fence, try the demo & then decide. This is an indie game made by a solo developer, which is insane! I also have an in depth review vid 👇 https://youtu.be/ZgXZLccDB_g?si=CpuRHBzqZYp04zEi
Это крутая игра
After playing this game for over 2 hours I'm really impressed with what has been made the gameplay is really fun and you can tell this has been heavily inspired by Resident Evil. The Art style and visuals are really well done and remind me a lot of games similar to Golden Eye 64. The story for me is probably the weakest point as it makes you backtrack a lot and with the map being a little confusing it makes it harder, The enemy designs are really good however the AI for them is weak they all pretty much do the same the same thing with slowly coming towards you which you can easily avoid. Map wise this game can be a little confusing as the map doesn't really show where you have been which can be a little annoying and you have to kind of guess where you might have to go. However after all this I had a fun time with this game and really recommend to give this a try.
BUYER BEWARE! There is a decent bit to say about this game. But ultimately what is most important to bring attention to is that this game is one of the most broken games I have ever played. This includes running into a game breaking glitch. Zero Below The Sun is janky and ugly, but has a certain type of charm on the surface that someone like me can appreciate. But the moment you crack below the surface, it starts to go downhill fast. The game doesn't have the best art style going for it. But, again, it can be charming. Controlling it, however, is anything but. Nothing feels fine tuned. The aiming is possibly the worst I've experienced. Sometimes shots will simply phase through your target even when your aim is dead on. The controller support is mostly busted, including assigning throwing grenades and reloading to the same button with no option to remap in game. It just feels like you're constantly fighting with playing the game, whether that's in combat or just trying to interact with the environment or navigate menus. The story is old hat, but I don't expect anything too groundbreaking when looking to get that indie survival horror fix. However, the lack of even a little bit of polish can make it a struggle to stay engaged with the game. Now, all that I have stated are the things I can power through and deal with. None of that is the worst part of this game. Zero Below The Sun has a one big crippling problem. The save function, like a lot of the game, is broken. I mean, it will save your location. But you'll be lucky if you load your save and still have the same amount of ammunition and healing items you did when you saved. Awful, right? Especially in a survival horror game. Well, how about loading the game and finding that a key item you need to progress is missing from your inventory and there's no way around it but to restart the entire game and hope it doesn't happen again? Yup, that will happen to. The very thing that led me to put this game down and write this review. How about reloading an older save? That would be nice... if the game allowed that. But, nope. There is only one save slot in one of the most broken games I have ever played. I am not shocked to hear there are other game breaking glitches as well that you may or may not encounter. Ultimately, I cannot recommend this game to anyone for any price. It may look charming, but it is a broken mess underneath the hood. There are too many great indie titles available, especially in the survival horror genre, to waste your time and money on this game.
Zero Below The Sun is a retro-style third-person survival horror game. The events of the game take place in the Arctic, in a secret bio-mutagen facility. You play as Axel Bowers, the deputy chief of security. Just as Axel is about to go home for a vacation, a containment breach alert disrupts his plans. Your task now is to investigate the cause of the breach and discover if anyone has survived. Throughout the game, you will find notes that provide information about experiments, and some of them offer useful hints. The game can only be saved in the armory room available on each floor. Overall, I find this game to be pretty decent, but [strike] I have encountered a "bug" that is preventing me from continuing the walkthrough. [/strike] The developer has fixed the issue. Z.B.T.S. is a love letter to the games of old; a third person view with a strong emphasis on survival and ammo preservation. Think of it as OverBlood meets Resident Evil and the goofiness of the first Alone in the Dark, (yeah, I said it), and you have a vety close idea as to what game is like. It runs perfectly on Steam Deck and it's an absolute recommendation of a game. If you want to check it for yourself, press the link below: https://youtu.be/mjKvXb-tE2Q
If you're into campy survival-horror with the spirit of an enhanced Nintendo 64 game, this one is gonna be it for you. Combat has a decent feel once you get adjusted to how much you can attack vs. needing to space and create distance with the dedicated dodge roll. The story is pretty simple enough to follow; top secret antarctic base goes off the rails and with you being in charge of security, you're left behind to witness the aftermath of the narrative's events. Decent weapon variety, nostalgic presentation, and silly voice lines from the main character give Zero Below The Sun a certain charm and feel. I do have quite a few gripes with the game, as it contains a decent amount of bugs, glitches (at one point I soft-locked the game due to dodging near an elevator entrance, clipping me through the floor and into an area that was previously locked off), and an overall lack of polish that would tighten up the character, combat controls, and quality of life. I also had an issue with the difficulty settings as the hard mode was a little too unforgiving with the amount of enemy health and lack of resources such as ammo and health items. Upon switching to normal, the opposite came into effect where, I had so many healing items and ammunition that I was basically able to brute force through many areas. Outside of some confusion with the map design and some backtracking issues, I enjoyed my time here. Its developed by a single person so I'm always mindful about the plights of solo-development, but it definitely needs more shine to feel a little better as the player. I should also note that I won this game through a social media giveaway so I didn't have to pay to experience it. If I had to pay, I'm sure the negatives would weigh on me a little more, as there are some clear issues that have to be ironed out, including the save system {only allowing a single save at a time, contributing to my soft-lock as mentioned previously.) All in all, a chill little indie horror game that feels like a cross up between an N64 survival-horror game and an action-thriller film from the 80's.

liked the little bit I played. stopped when the npc who tells me what the ratio I have to do for a puzzle just doesnt tell me what it is again. forgot what he said, so like that's the end of the playthrough lmao.
