About
Zenkcraft is a modern spellcraft templating program for MMORPG's. Zenkcraft was originally made back in March of 2019 and previously existed as a free to download software, but the application has been rebuilt from the ground up adding many customizations and enhancements.
Zenkcraft allows you to completely customize your character's template to see all skills, stats, resists, and all other info in a comprehensive and interactive program. Easily add items to your template from several different methods and build your report for a spellcrafter to use. Several features such as Auto Template allow Zenkcraft to calculate and complete your template for you, with many other features such as the powerful ROGify tool. All changes are kept in the patch notes.
Core Zenkcraft Features
Modern, interactive Spellcrafting tool with a very user-friendly UI that is tuned to all the settings of the Eden server.
All expected functionality such as exporting/importing, template guidance, and a variety of settings.
Ability to add items directly from DAoC into Zenkcraft by delving an item with shift+i. Includes all stats, procs/changes, quality, etc.
Add Spellcrafting gems directly into DAoC with a very easy interface.
Upload and download templates from a public online database with a few clicks, showing all kinds of information.
Full screen and windowed mode available as well as adjustable resolution.
Recent Updates:
Completed transition to a modern version of the Unity Engine. This will improve overall performance and stability.
Added a Vault feature to store items between templates (See Vault Tab).
Made Zenkcraft server selectable so that you can use different settings, templates, and vault items based on your selected server.
ToA classes and information has been added to make Zenkcraft compatible with ToA servers.
Added a Properties Tab to track armor/weapon types, speed, and other information. This was a necessity in order to finish development of the Vault.
Changed save directory to the "My Documents" folder as opposed to the Zenkcraft directory (in addition to Vault items). This means you can delete Zenkcraft and add a new version, with all templates and Vault items being retained.
Several changes to Zenkcraft to align with the Eden server.
Several performance enhancements across multiple functionalities (I'm a better programmer than I was 3 years ago).
Completion of Auto Template.
Added ROGify, which uses items in the Vault to build a template. There is a lot of information on this in Zenkcraft and this is a very powerful tool, so please check out the Notes and ROGify tabs within Zenkcraft for more info.
Added the Spellcrafting Gem reagents (material cost) for all gems and added the info to the Spellcrafting report.

Zenkcraft is a specialized utility crafted for players of Dark Age of Camelot, providing a robust, user-friendly environment for developing and refining spellcrafting templates. Built by Gas Lantern Games and available on Steam for a modest price, it offers deep functionality tailored specifically to those immersed in the gear optimization metagame of DAoC. Whether you're a veteran min-maxer or a returning player looking to simplify the complex process of item templating, Zenkcraft is purpose-built to streamline the experience in an accessible, modern format. The updated Remastered version of the tool is a major leap forward in usability and performance. Rebuilt in Unity, it replaces the older version’s dated interface and restrictive features with scalable resolution, multi-server support, and more intuitive controls. The ability to store and manage templates directly in your user documents—not buried inside the application folder—makes organization far easier. With auto-template functionality and the powerful ROGify tool, players can now generate optimized builds using the gear they already own, vastly reducing the time and guesswork involved in putting together competitive templates. Visually, Zenkcraft is clean and readable. Tabs are logically organized, item stats are displayed clearly, and tooltip support makes it easier to understand complex interactions between bonuses, caps, and resists. For those who want more visual customization, there’s also an optional DLC that introduces hundreds of color adjustments and themed UI presets, including realm-specific aesthetics and a full dark mode. While the interface doesn't currently support side-by-side template comparisons or highly advanced keyboard workflows, these limitations are fairly minor given the app’s overall clarity and functionality. Community reception has been overwhelmingly positive. With a very high rating on Steam and an engaged user base on platforms like Reddit, the tool benefits from frequent updates and responsive development. User feedback has led to the implementation of key features like expanded Vault functionality, improved filtering, and support for both Classic and ToA servers. This ongoing evolution ensures the app remains tightly aligned with the needs of its core audience, offering tools that are both powerful and practical. Functionally, Zenkcraft is all about efficiency. It takes what used to be a tedious, manual process—working through spreadsheets and cross-referencing item stats—and condenses it into a dynamic system that helps players see their full stat layout, item bonuses, and template coverage at a glance. The Vault system is especially helpful for managing large inventories, allowing you to pull from your stored items to build multiple templates without constantly re-entering data. This makes experimentation easier and helps players adjust to shifting game metas with minimal hassle. Though its focus is narrow, that’s also what makes Zenkcraft so effective. It doesn’t try to be a do-it-all MMO assistant—it’s a targeted solution for one of the most intricate parts of DAoC gameplay: character optimization through templating. For serious players, it's an invaluable time-saver and a reliable companion to the game itself. Casual players may not need its full power, but for those invested in perfecting builds, it offers unmatched utility with a smooth learning curve and constant refinement. Overall, Zenkcraft is a remarkably well-designed tool that does exactly what it sets out to do—make DAoC templating smarter, faster, and far more manageable. Its intuitive interface, powerful automation features, and developer responsiveness make it a standout example of how companion software can enhance a classic MMO experience without overcomplicating it. For the templating enthusiast, there’s simply nothing else that matches its precision and convenience. Rating: 8/10
You play DAOC? You need Zenkcraft
Pretty much essential for a game going for about 30 years (Dark Age of Camelot and its free shards) it provides a very decent interface to show all boni through spellcrafting. Takes getting a bit to get used to (coming from its competitor Loki or predecessors) with layout, then after this is really fast - especially with the import functionality of most often used items to create your own template. The extra benefit is to allow downloads of other persons' templates to jump start the process.
Best tool for building a Temp on Eden. Thanks for keeping this App and the Game alive👍
if you play a game from 20 years ago called DAOC or any of the freeshards this is a must have for templatint.
Very helpful in creating a template for my characters.
