Quite interesting shooter game! Gameplay is as easy as pretty much any shooter game there is however, you do get a neat gameplay mechanic added in Zeit2... rewind time for a few seconds! That way, you can land more kills (to heal up) and keep it up with the killing spree! Visuals, gameplay and soundtrack are all quite decent! My only advice though... play this with a gamepad/controller! With keyboard, it ain't as intuitive as a controller!
Old school 2D shoot 'em up at its best. The game looks gorgeous, and like most of the greats of the genre, revolves around a deceptively simple mechanic that'll give you countless hours of fun to reach a true level of mastery at. It's certainly not on the level with Ikaruga as a retro revival game, but for $10, it's tough to complain and it offers a bottomless pit of replay value.
our latest release. on PC an XBLA. witziges game mit ganz freshem ansatz für ein klassisches genre. go go have fun and support your local (berlin) game developer
all i can say is wow
Zeit² is a game that ticks many of my boxes: Shoot em up, low price, interesting mechanics, metal/orchestral/electronic soundtrack, lots of blues. good controls. (though, you can't rebind controller binds despite being able to rebind keyboard buttons. WAT?!) It's a horizontal shmup with a time travel mechanic, which will be necessary to deal with mutli-enemy swarms which can be tough to hit, enemies that phase out of time, and standard enemies. Traveling back in time creates a shadow version of yourself that repeats the actions you made while you can go to another part of the screen to shoot other enemies, or "double the damage" you're doing to a single enemy. Killing standard enemies are necessary as every enemy that passes the screen takes a small perecentage of your health, as well as every bullet you shoot. This would seem annoying, and in certain levels, it kinda is annoying, but it is balance pretty well it doesn't feel like it is unfair or cheap. Only shoot and preeshoot when you need to and you generally wont run out of health because of shooting. Your ship is surrouneded by a shield which can catch nearby pick ups and harm close enemies. This shield shrinks as you take damage and also displays the meter for your Beam Shot, which goes through multiple enemies and quickly damages large mobs with higher health. There is also a Fast Forward button, though I didn't find much use for it in surviving the game (I think it increases score and maybe helps to deal with certain enemies. I didnt figure out Rapid Shot eitiher, or purple enemies that seem like they can't be damaged. I was enjoying myself, until stage 3, the Minelayer level, where purple enemies, mines, and swarms weakened me until the boss, and while i held up ok, the boss destroyed me with a crazy auto-homing ramming/conatact damage attack. I think time reversal helps with this, and it did in my next run, but I got to the point where I couldn't reach the boss anymore. This stage is rather annoying for me, so I might not come back since I have thousands of games on my plate.
Zeit² is a worthy purchase for shmup fans and a decent purchase for casual shmup players looking for something slightly different in the genre. I had this game on my wishlist for years, so I'm glad I finally play it, though it is not a must play.
Yes.
Voto Personale: 5.9
