Yume Nikki is a surreal game that best describes the feeling of aimlessness. Without any guide or clue you just wander, drifting endlessly through these peculiarworlds and... that's it really. But there is something beautiful and at the same time deeply unsettling about that simpleness, the way you travel just for the sake of travelling with no goal or idea of where you are going, just observing the weird sights as you try and find something, anything. Through the creepiest hells and the most beautiful forests, mapping your journey through poorly made paper notes, all for the sake of finding that something. You constantly feel like your sinking, like your wandering down an endless shifting corridor with no exit, just more doors and more places to fall deeper and deeper Into. It truly feels like it is Incomprehensibly eternal, like there are hidden secrets that you will never find and perhaps nobody ever will. It makes you feel small, like you're never going to be found again, like you are just a speck in something you can't hope to understand. That's a daunting thought but at the same time it's reassuring, because maybe being just a speck is not that bad when all you have to think about is wandering. ... ... Maybe that's why she liked wandering so much.
