Honestly, even though in the game's omake(we..all read them right? Ahahaha...), ZUN stated that the game was rushed, it is still great. The 'freezing danmaku mechanic is awesome, and unique to touhou 12.8 [spoiler](much the same as the photo spin-offs charge wise, heh AYAYA!ᗜˬᗜ)[/spoiler], and if you time it right, you can wait for the danmaku to encompass the whole screen, then freezing them. It is very satisfying to look at! I love it. I also love that in the game's manual there is a lore reason as to why the fairies fire off so much danmaku. It was a detail that ZUN could have left out, but he did not, out of care. As for the story, it follows up from the "great fairy wars" chapter which was left up to interpretation in the official manga Touhou Sangetsusei: Strange and Bright Nature Deity. [spoiler](it was stated that this event, which was called the great fairy wars, [not in an honorary way, but mockingly], was told at events and such. Even though in the same chapter we were told that it was supposed to be a 'story for another time', the time IS now!)[/spoiler] I thoroughly enjoyed this. Even though the game is called the great fairy wars you dont need to read the singular chapter in touhou sangetsusei to get the "image" of the game. And hey, spoiler alert, but they even include [spoiler]Marisa(Daze)[/spoiler] as the extra stage boss! Serves her right for [spoiler]wanting to help the fairies of light destroy the vines via killing the tree they lived in! Kourindou sure has lots of strange items![/spoiler] Y'know, I do love how far ZUN goes out of his way to care for the community he created. Sure, we all know the Touhou Project was made as an instrument for his music (and GOD is it amazing. You are telling me i get a free game after i pay for his music on steam?!),however, he is also an excellent lore writer.(but not the best..yikes) He made a whole game out of ONE open ended chapter in the sangetsusei manga. Ofc this game is a spin off so it does not support my case here, but it is still official in the lore nonetheless. This is why Cirno(chiruno) is DA STRONGEST! JUST WAIT UNTIL SHE DRINKS CHIRUMIRU! ᗜˬᗜ ᗜˬᗜ. Thank you ZUN for creating the touhou project and being an inspiration for me. It represents my childhood, as, the first ever PC game i played was a touhou game. And thank you for all of the friends i have gained over the past 9 years this way! And today touhou 20 released! Cheers!

Best Touhou game of all time with the best gameplay. Mogs every other 2d Shooter, Shmup, and Indie game. I’ll never forget the brave sacrifices the fairies made in the Great Fairy War. I’ll make a proper review some other time, I’m busy doing my chores.

Strongest fairy is sporting one of the strongest contender for the best Touhou side game. It takes a while to rewrite your brain to make it remember that there is an additional button that you have to use now if you played other Touhou games. It also takes a bit of practice to learn how to use it well, but when you do it's great. It's not even about dodging the bullets, or killing the enemies, it becomes a game of making the biggest freeze chain possible, hearing that delicious sound of hundreds of bullets getting frozen, and when the ice shatters and kills everything trapped inside and you see the screen clean of any obstacles it's insanely satisfying feeling. For about split second as you immediately start doing it again. It's great, it's a contestant dopamine rush and once you start you can't put it down. For a side game with just one playable character and very few stages this might be one of the best Touhou bullet hell out there from the gameplay perspective. Highly recommended.

Great Fairy Wars é mais um excelente spin-off de Touhou e definitivamente é um jogo que vale a pena para quem está procurando um bom bullet hell, mas com uma pegada diferente. A história do jogo é baseada na série de mangás oficiais de Touhou, Sangetsusei, com as três fadas desgraçadas das zoeiras, assim, os retratos do jogo foram feitos pelo artista responsável pelo mangá, Makoto Hirasaka. A protagonista do jogo é a Cirno, por isso a mecânica principal do jogo envolve utilizar os poderes de gelo dela para congelar as balas na tela, então navega-se o danmaku com o objetivo de desencadear o congelamento do máximo de balas possível ao mesmo tempo, o que realmente diferencia a gameplay desse jogo dos jogos principais. O jogo só tem 3 estágios, em que no final de cada um você enfrenta uma fada da luz diferente + um estágio extra em que você luta contra a Marisa. Com certeza esse é um jogo satisfatório de zerar, com uma mecânica bacana de aprender e com só 3 estágios para dominar, mas que requerem várias tentativas. Por isso, você deveria comprar esse jogo por apenas 20 reais para apoiar o nosso lorde ZUN.
