You, With Me - A Kinetic Novel

I feel this visual novel character a little bit ugly, the story also weird.

If there was a "neutral" option, I'd use it, because I'm really torn about whether to recommend this or not. Here's the thing: It's really just a short story with a few graphics. As such, it follows the proper short story formula, in that the main character has hardships/obstracles, and in the end, is changed by them, and learns from them. On the upside, the message of the story is good. On the downside, it's REALLY melodramatic, and extremely unrealistic. I've had cancer, and this VN doesn't deal with it in a reailistic way at all. But then, I guess most people wouldn't realize that. Additionally, at least one major plot twist is foreshadowed so heavily that you can't help but know what is about to be revealed; the writing here is too heavy-handed. Grammar and such is extremely iffy--I get the feeling this was written by someone whose native language is not English, so for that reason I mostly chose to overlook it, but, I'd recommend that the writer get someone to proofreed future works. In the end, I guess I'm going to recommend this simply because the message it's trying to get across IS a good one, and, because the flaws in the main character were well-written enough that for a good part of the VN I wanted to slap the guy and tell him to quit being... well... no spoilers.. Graphically, there's nothing too exciting here. The scenes look good, but there are only a few of them and they are re-used a lot. One character, at the very end, has a weird error in that when the person is talked about, it's a male person named Shawn, but when speaking, it's a female named Natasha. That, and a few other things do need to be cleaned up a bit. So yeah, I'll recommend, but catch it on sale--even though it's cheap already. I think whoever wrote this can do better, with practice.

Didn't find the characters to be ones I liked or could relate to. Writing is.... less than ideal. This was not an experience I'd like to replicate.

Do not bother with this game. It is just nothing but clicking through with no interaction options. Very disappointed.

Very nice game

The game has its flaws, but it's a cute visual novel and a great way to spend a few hours. The writing is a bit awkward and there are some glitches that cause text to repeat/the wrong names to show up, but if you can get past that, the game has a lovely little story. I'd say it takes ~3 hours to complete if you actually read everything (I skimmed through some of the bigger chunks of text) and it's well worth the couple bucks it costs to buy the game. Overall, I'd say... 6.5/10, would recommend.
