You, With Me - A Kinetic Novel

Almost no music, grey screen each time the character is thinking, text bugs... I can't recommend this game, even if the story is interesting. And for those who wonder : there isn't any choice to make in this game.

I purchased this visual novel after experiencing the outstanding masterpiece produced by the same developer Afterthought Studios "Forgotten, Not Lost" last year. (The key was purchased rather for the small discount over at Indiegala.com) Much like Forgotten, Not Lost dealt with the really tough end-of-life loss of memory that comes with older age, this one deals with perhaps even a tougher real life matter in being told you have cancer and you only have months to live. While I read this aloud, word for word on my youtube channel to my viewers, and choked up a few times, I discovered that this VN is a heart warming and inspiring tale that I highly recommend! While this novel isn't quite as well written as the before-mentioned Forgotten, Not Lost, it is still a very heart wrenching at times, and heart warming at other times tale that I enjoyed very much! It's very much worth the price tag and the time spent reading it, which if read silently should only take 2 to 4 hours depending on your reading speed. While you can certainly go watch and/or listen to my playlist found linked below, I highly recommend that you read this for yourself first to the maximum effect and experience. It isn't without its faults, the biggest problem I had was no way to change the text size or window size to allow me to read all of the text that just didn't all fit on some screens, so it left me feeling like I missed something at times. Other smaller problems were bad grammer or the choice of wording in some places, but in the end, it didn't do much damage to the overall impact of the great story which it seeks to tell us. Es una novela cinética donde no se toman decisiones, se lee de principio a fin sin opción a variar el rumbo de la historia. La historia gira en torno a un hombre al que le detectan una efermedad terminal y todo el drama que una situación como esa supone para su vida en pareja. La idea de hacer una trama seria está bien, la historia en si no está mal y los personajes de Jacob y Lisa están bastante bien definidos, ellos no son perfectos ni todo les va bien y eso es de agradecer en una obra dramática. Pero la obra termina flojeando en muchos aspectos como que no han cuidado demasiado el texto conteniendo algunos errores, en ocasiones extienden las conversaciones con datos que son irrelevantes y lo peor es que los cuadros de texto no está bien calibrados porque en vez de ir poniendo un bloque de texto largo por partes lo ponen todo junto llegando a salir del cuadro cortando las letras.

It's definitely a sad concept, but there just wasn't enough to it to make me like it. It's also not worth paying $3.00 for. I got mine for free as a side purchase to an indie VN bundle, so I didn't mind it so much then.

Well, that was as captivating as couple of episodes of some boring soap opera. The topic of facing a cancer had a potential, but the plot was extremely generic and lacking something interesting such as more mature, dark themes.

The most pointless visual novel I've ever seen. It's utterly joyless, and made with so little care I'm left wondering why the developers even bothered. At least with AI hentai slop there's a point to it -- devs trying to make money off horny gamers -- but this VN doesn't even have that excuse. Let's start with the art. It looks like illustrations off of Wikihow. Soulless and bland. Then the writing. At first it seemed competent enough, but then the errors started adding up and the stilted awful dialogue made the characters seem even more like shoddy paper cut-outs. With decent art it might have been bearable, but add them together and the lack of quality is insulting. The overall presentation is beyond lazy. There's huge blocks of unbroken text, and text even spills out of the dialogue box making it impossible to read. It's like no one on the dev team gave a single ♥♥♥♥ about this overwrought, melodramatic bloody stool of a game. I just don't understand how you can make a visual novel this bad. I've removed any other games from this studio from my wishlist and will not buy anything else from them in future.

Natasha, is it you? Apparently, in this VN "Natasha" is a boy (since 23 Feb, 2017); flight from Singapore to NY lasts 20 hours (no guys, it lasts 18.5), you won't catch flu from standing in the rain (you'll catch a cold), and you won't "choking thinking about what has happened". And why is it RPG in tags? So, the text is pretty average (not bad, but nothing special), with mistakes now and then. Gameplay? No, just a story. [spoiler]But, the worst: the text mentions treatment methods and those who are easily influenced should not read this VN. Plus some unacceptable behavior that already was mentioned in other reviews.[/spoiler]
