COMMON ISSUES WITH THE GAME
(as the dev of You.Tapes, there's 2 main issues that is beyond me to optimize or fix due to the engine of the game)
#1 - Black screen issue : this happens because the game is run on a 3rd party backend to host itself as an application because the game is made using javascript that runs on the web, the game is fully webGL so when the screen turns "black" it means your GPU lost the webGL statues, I made a code that constantly tries to pick it back up if lost but only so many times it can do this if your GPU cannot handle the app.
#2 - Intro issue : when the game is loaded you should be greeted be a color welcoming but sometimes when loaded the game can still lose webGL contexts and if fully lost before the loading completes can create a unactive state of the game, no issue here just reload the game by exiting the app "VIA ESC BUTTON" and reload the game
hopefully this clears up any confusions !

Reviews
The experience seems unique and peculiar but its downsides made me drop it After downloading the game, for some reason I had to wait 3-5 mins for the game to load. When I picked the note at the desk, I couldn't close the note screen and thought it was a bug until I pressed the Esc key by accident, it would be nice to know that. Also, at some point on the altar, the screen got black but the game audio kept playing so I had to restart the game. When I saw the loading screen, I didn't want to wait another 3-5 mins so I dropped it. Other than that, I wasn't sure of what I was doing but it was entertaining, felt like a LSD trip. I would recommend to lower the saturation because it interferes with the gameplay and fix the bugs, it has potential
i mean it doesnt work so what do you WANT me to say
I had to restart this game three times, First because the game cant go fullscreen past the first intro screen Second because the first todo paper wouldn't get off my screen Third because the i got stuck/softlocked in one of the first areas, which is the museum Also, the game is very saturated, which could be an artistic choice, but can get annoying at times. The game also pivots your screen in a weird snappy way when looking around. This game needs a lot of debugging and QoL fixes before i can give it a good review.
This game had a lot of potential but sadly the final product isn't good. The game has a lot of issues making it unenjoyable. The first issue I encountered was at the start, where the game tells me to click the window to enter fullscreen mode or press F11 but the F11 key did not work. A second issue I stumbled across was that sometimes, when I take a picture, the game unexpectedly opens the Windows File Explorer to save the image. This is definitely not caused by a key combination, as I tried pressing only the left mouse button of my mouse without touching my keyboard and the issue persisted. I also ran into a problem when needing to press buttons on the screen like the "ToDo" button. The mouse is invisible when you play the game, so to make it appear you have to press escape, which kicks you out of fullscreen (would be nice if there was a working key to quickly get back instead of clicking the window's edge). That's not the only problem with these buttons tho, they only work sometimes. On average I had to press at least 5 times to get them to work (after each click the mouse goes away so you have to press escape each time). I also saw some other issues like a typo in the word "graduate" which was written "gradute" at the very start of the story. I restarted the game multiple times hoping it would fix the issues but instead of fixing anything it just replaced the image of the player's hands with a black rectangle. To end this I think it's pretty obvious that I don't recommend this game at all in its current state so except if there's an update fixing all of the issues this game has don't buy it.
