Super late to review this but really enjoyed this game. Strongly recommended for retro gaming fans especially if you love games like VVVVVV

Solid and free
The platformer I'd been looking for. I need no other
You Have to Win the Game is a surprisingly polished retro platformer that has no business being free. The CRT simulation and 8-bit aesthetic hit hard if you lived through the DOS era, and the interconnected level design reminded me of Dark Souls in the best possible way — every shortcut and new passage you unlock feels earned. Fair warning: there's an item late in the game that wipes your save, which stings after you've spent hours collecting money bags and mapping out routes in your head. The difficulty is real but rarely feels unfair, and YOLO mode exists for people who apparently hate themselves in a fun way. If you have a few hours and any fondness for old-school platformers, there's genuinely no reason not to play this.
