I can appreciate the artistic vision of the thing, really... but it just gets too strange for my taste. It's like if you find an anime show that you really like... and then the final episode (or two episodes) they try to get all existential and flip the universe on its head and it just ends up being a terrible thing to watch. I enjoyed the first half of this game. I played up to META level 10, I liked it up until about META 6 I think. (META is the point where you change to another scenario.) Then it just got... stupid, for lack of a better word. I might go back and finish it someday, but probably not anytime soon. It starts out like any other home-made RPG: you are in a "medieval fantasy" world trying to become a knight, so you must go save the villagers by completing a quest to slay an evil dragon. Ok, fine. That part plays well. But as soon as you kill the thing and meet the king, you're thrown into this strange cycle of increasingly weird scenarios with no common thread to the story other than how short they all are and the basic theme that you are a character in someone else's game. It switches art styles, combat moves are given different names, different money systems, different characters, different setting each time. The first couple of changes weren't too bad, but after that it became apparent that the developer just wanted to throw a "reality check" in your face every ten minutes. So yeah, go ahead and try it. Maybe you'll get more enjoyment out of it than I did. Just don't expect a real RPG here. This one is more like "what if 30-Second Hero had a baby with Breath of Fire and some genes from Phantasy Star 3 were spliced in?" kind of thing.

So this is what Mark Zuckerberg is doing at Meta.
If you think you can handle this game then think again. Just taking the example from the first experience with this game: At the start you need to go to the armory for an apprenticeship and you get told to kill the other candidate to be the only one taking in the role of the apprentice. You kill him in an awful fight that lasts about 10 minutes of waiting to recharge your energy and hitting him with your rubber sword because it does about 2 damage and he has around 100. Your mana doesn't recharge and a "heavy blow" or "precise blow" takes mana... If you come out victorious at the end of the fight you may think you've just got over the bad part of the game but here it comes. The win didn't count and you need to battle him again but now your mana is gone so you do a stunning maximum of 3 damage. This is just the example I chose but there is nothing good about this game. 1/10 wouldn't recommend
