Yet Another Hard Game

Yet Another Hard Game is an abandoned Early Access 2D minimalist/retro pixel platformer with the same schtick that games like "Super Meat Boy" use... that is, it's difficult. Gameplay consists of guiding a square around difficult platformer levels with a "city" background. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel/MS-Paint "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked, and there's no working fullscreen mode. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. Developers typically choose "ultra difficult" to pad out the content of a game... if players must spend longer to pass through each level, there's no need to generate a lot of content, which requires hard work that many developers prefer not to do. The game was abandoned by the developer, with a single update 2 days after launch. The game is roughly 5 months past the developers commitment to leave Early Access. On the upside, the controls are fairly smooth, which is about the only thing this game has going for it. Due to the woeful quality issues and abandoned/cash grab nature of the game, I can't recommend it.
