10 YEARS IN THE YAKUSA MADE YOU A KIRTU grey ONE majima in my ♥♥♥♥ 色母吗及吗看i荣誉
Great game, but the side content is a mixed bag.
This is a fascinating game to me, having started with 0 I would say play this one first so you aren't as let down as I have been. It's solid, don't get me wrong, but it lacks in a couple areas and I feel like 0 is just a better game overall. This review is going to seem bad, but I actually do recommend playing this. I am not a big fan of the combat in this engine, I had the same issues with 0. I'm hoping I like K2's more but from reviews I have my doubts. Against the riff-raff, do whatever you want, it's nearly impossible to lose on the street. Against bosses it boils down to spamming heat moves with powerful weapons or spamming tiger drop. It always feels unfair fighting in the later arenas until you get crazy good armor/tiger drop. A rank and above, Majima is only foiled by counters (once again, tiger drop) and heat actions, with him having the ability to dodge out of your combos while being hit from any angle (something you do not have the luxury of being able to do) and go right into a combo that is hyper armored until it ends, you try to take your turn swinging, he dodges out, rinse, repeat until you're out of healing items or he goes down. Since fighting him is the only way to upgrade your dragon stance aside from the few Komaki moves, it turns into a chore IMO instead of being enjoyable gameplay. STORY SPOILERS The story is paced great until the end, with a new main bad guy being revealed in the last 2 chapters as a "Oh Nishiki actually wasn't the worst guy so you can sort of forgive him" beat. If they could have made Jingu a character you see at some point earlier then it wouldn't be as bad but I don't remember seeing him or hearing his name up until the end. It feels like a let down after building up Nishiki to be the villain through the whole story. The good bits are great, but the game shows its age even with the remaster. Be patient with it, as you would a forgetful grandparent.
