스타컨트롤이 생각나서 구매했는데 옛날 실력이 안 나와서 좌절... 그래픽 깔끔하고 재밌습니다. 생각나면 가끔 꺼내서 한판 돌리고 그럴듯
A clone of all of the Asteroid clones! Not bad. I'd prefer it to be analog rather than 8 way.

Xentron Attack, developed by Hijong Park and published by PsychoFlux Entertainment, is a deliberately old-school arcade shooter that builds its identity around simplicity, precision, and relentless pacing. It draws clear inspiration from classic space shooters of the past, presenting a stripped-down experience where survival and score-chasing take priority over progression systems or narrative depth. Rather than trying to modernize the formula with complex mechanics, the game leans into its retro roots, offering a focused challenge that depends almost entirely on player skill. The gameplay centers on navigating a borderless space arena filled with hostile forces, environmental hazards, and constantly escalating threats. Movement and shooting are tied together, meaning the direction of travel determines the direction of fire. This design choice immediately sets the tone, requiring players to think carefully about positioning rather than relying on free aiming. It creates a gameplay style that feels more deliberate and demanding, especially for those used to modern twin-stick shooters. Every movement becomes a decision, and success depends on maintaining control in increasingly chaotic situations. One of the more engaging elements of the game is how it uses space itself as part of the challenge. The wraparound playfield allows players to exit one side of the screen and reappear on the other, creating opportunities for both escape and ambush. This mechanic adds a layer of strategy, as players must constantly consider not just immediate threats, but also how their position might expose them to danger from unexpected angles. Enemies that react dynamically to movement further enhance this, making encounters feel less predictable and more reactive. The pacing is fast and continuously escalating, staying true to its arcade inspirations. Early moments give players a chance to get comfortable with the controls, but this quickly gives way to more intense scenarios where multiple threats compete for attention. Meteors, missiles, and enemy units fill the screen, forcing quick reflexes and careful navigation. Occasional tools such as shields, temporary upgrades, or warp abilities provide brief advantages, adding moments of tactical choice within the otherwise straightforward gameplay loop. These additions help break up the action slightly, though they do not fundamentally change the core experience. Variety is introduced through multiple modes and gameplay variations, each offering slight adjustments to how the game unfolds. While these modes provide some replay value, they are built on the same foundational mechanics, meaning the differences feel incremental rather than transformative. Local multiplayer adds a more dynamic layer, allowing players to cooperate or compete, which can make the experience more engaging by introducing shared tension and unpredictability. Visually, the game adopts a minimalist, vector-style presentation that emphasizes clarity over detail. The clean lines and simple shapes make it easy to track movement and projectiles, even during the most chaotic moments. This approach fits well with the gameplay, ensuring that the player is never overwhelmed visually, even if the action itself becomes intense. While the aesthetic lacks modern visual flair, it effectively reinforces the game’s retro identity. Despite its strengths, Xentron Attack is limited by its narrow scope. There is little in the way of long-term progression or evolving mechanics, and once players have mastered the core systems, the experience becomes focused almost entirely on improving performance and achieving higher scores. This can make the game feel repetitive over time, particularly for those who are not drawn to arcade-style gameplay loops. The difficulty can also be unforgiving, with mistakes often leading to immediate consequences, which may be discouraging for less experienced players. Ultimately, Xentron Attack is a tightly focused arcade shooter that succeeds in delivering a challenging and skill-driven experience. It captures the essence of classic space shooters, emphasizing precision, awareness, and fast decision-making. While it does not offer much beyond its core mechanics, what it does provide is polished and consistent. For players who appreciate retro-inspired design and the pursuit of high scores, it offers a rewarding challenge, even if its appeal remains firmly within a niche audience. Rating: 6/10
Another one I struggle to place words on seeing as I didn't play it, nor was I there when it was being played, but the dev has a decent track record and my brother didn't say anything negative about it? I don't really like the reviews where I needed help fro a game. It doesn't feel like I can speak as much.
