About

Get them home! We need you to defend Billy and his crew as they make their way to the extraction zone at Drop City #237. The transport ship, Lockwood, was shot down and crash-landed on the desert planet Kernas! You’ve been authorized to use the defense system to escort them safely. Protect them from giant bugs, malfunctioning droids, and more…
Their journey to safety will be depicted through a hand-drawn comic.
Make sure the enemy doesn’t breach the defensive gates, or Billy won’t make it home!
5 Base towers, each with its own function. Choose to upgrade them into one of two branching specializations, totaling 15 unique towers with their own special abilities. These can be upgraded even further! Will you burn your enemies with the flamethrower, or perhaps snipe them from afar? The choice is yours!
You won’t have to rely solely on your towers—you can also use powerful abilities to get you out of tight spots!

48 unlockable skills to acquire! Earn medals based on your performance in missions and use those to unlock them. Get new active abilities or improve the ones you have already. Or maybe you prefer to upgrade the abilities of your towers? Notice that what you unlocked isn't working for you? Reset your skills and redistribute them as you see fit!

Your towers are powerful, but so are your enemies! They have their own skills to help them break through your defenses. Place your towers wisely to counter their special abilities.
Decent tower defense game against bugs, robots, and rogues with helpful secondary powers, limited tower placement, and upgrades. The story unfolds solely through a series of comic book-style pages and sticks to a familiar theme: humanity fighting off various threats like bugs, robots, and rogue humans. It's really just a narrative backdrop to justify the missions, with no real twists or surprises along the way. That said, there is a fair amount of lore available in the in-game database, which expands as you encounter new enemies during gameplay. In addition to the standard mode, there’s a Hardcore option, but it’s best avoided unless you’re chasing a rare achievement. Hardcore mode exists purely to make things more difficult with heavy restrictions and no meaningful benefits. Normal mode, on the other hand, includes three difficulty options that mainly affect how enemy waves are timed: you can manually trigger waves, let them come in at timed intervals, or face them continuously with no pauses. Gameplay centers around building defensive towers and surviving enemy waves. However, you can only place towers on designated spots marked on the map, so strategic placement is limited. There are five tower types to choose from, each with unique stats for damage, range, and fire rate. Each tower can be upgraded up to three times to enhance its performance. As you make progress through stages, each tower also unlocks an ultimate fourth level that comes with a bunch of its own special upgrades. Since each upgrade can be bought two or three times, you can create an absolute monster of a tower that can destroy everything. The bad side is that upgrades are very costly and you might have to sell everything to keep only one elite tower. Available tower include a machine-gun bunker for standard bullet fire, a trooper station that deploys melee soldiers and lets you spot hidden units, a mortar tower that deals splash damage, a laser tower for high single-target damage, and a support command tower that boosts performance of every tower in its range. In addition to towers, you have access to four special weapons that operate on cooldowns. These include a temporary gun turret or mech drop, a freezing bomb, and an orbital laser strike. On easy difficulty, you can wait for these powers to recharge before launching the next wave, making progression much smoother. Missions are selected from a map, with each one unlocking the next in sequence. Every mission follows the same core objective: stop enemies from breaching the gate on one side of the map. Enemies approach from the opposite side, with their entry points marked in advance. However, you won't know what types of enemies are coming, which can be problematic because some towers can’t hit flying enemies or detect units, which may leave your defenses exposed. Your performance in missions is rated with up to three stars. These stars can be used to unlock upgrades, but most of them offer only minor improvements. For example, there’s just one upgrade that boosts all tower damage by 10%, and about half of the available upgrades enhance special weapons rather than towers.
50/100 first half ok, second is not Playthrough: 16 maps ~5 hours (90% 3stars) Overall mediocre game at fair price : - huge balancing issues in later missions - last 3 missions seem not playtested at all - invulnerable Boss in last mission? total BS - that lv16 Boss destroying 10+ towers? total BS - enemy units that make towers completely useless? also BS No FUN, the game forces you to play one way to succeed..
spoko gierka
Ugh, the color palette is blah, the characters are blah, the scenery is blah the towers are basic and blah. The gameplay is blah (also slow) and even with the speed options it only goes from too slow or to too fast and it is just plain boringly boring and blah. Lots of b words... oh and it's bleck and bottomline it's just plain bad. Don't bother (another b word). One positive I can say is the price is good but not for a game you're not even going to continue to play.
XENOBREAKERS: Classic Tower Defense is a strategy-focused tower defense game developed and published by Couch Potato Studios. As the title suggests, the game intentionally embraces the traditional mechanics of the tower defense genre while presenting them within a stylized science-fiction setting. Instead of drastically reinventing the formula, it focuses on delivering a polished version of the classic gameplay loop where players construct defensive structures, upgrade their arsenal, and survive increasingly dangerous waves of enemies. The result is a game that feels familiar to fans of tower defense titles while still offering enough features and visual personality to stand out among modern indie strategy games. The game’s narrative serves as a light framework that connects the various missions of the campaign. The story begins with the crash landing of a transport vessel known as the Lockwood on the hostile desert world of Kernas. The crew members who survive the crash are stranded in dangerous territory filled with alien creatures and environmental hazards. To make matters worse, rescue is not immediately available, leaving the survivors with only one option: travel across the planet toward a designated extraction point. The player assists the survivors by controlling a powerful automated defense system that can deploy towers and combat technologies to protect the convoy as it advances through enemy territory. Story segments are presented through hand-drawn comic panels that appear between missions. These short narrative sequences show the crew members reacting to the harsh conditions of the alien planet while slowly progressing toward safety. While the story is not particularly complex, the comic presentation adds personality to the experience and gives players a sense that they are helping guide the characters through a dangerous journey. The storytelling approach fits the game’s visual style and helps maintain momentum between gameplay stages. Gameplay follows the familiar structure of a traditional tower defense game. Each mission presents a battlefield where enemies travel along specific paths toward defensive objectives. Players must strategically place towers along these routes in order to eliminate enemies before they reach their target. Each wave introduces larger groups of enemies or tougher opponents, gradually increasing the difficulty of the mission. Success depends on careful placement of towers, proper use of upgrades, and the ability to adapt defenses when new threats appear. The game begins with five base tower types that serve as the foundation of the player’s defensive arsenal. Each tower performs a specific function, such as rapid-fire attacks against weaker enemies, heavy damage against armored units, or area-of-effect attacks that can eliminate groups of attackers. As the game progresses, players gain access to upgrades that expand the capabilities of these towers. Through these upgrades, the initial five towers evolve into fifteen specialized variants that allow for different tactical approaches. Some upgrades enhance raw damage output, while others introduce special effects such as slowing enemies or improving nearby defenses. In addition to static towers, players also have access to active battlefield abilities that can influence the outcome of particularly intense encounters. These abilities include powerful attacks, support actions, and emergency reinforcements that can be deployed during critical moments. Because these abilities operate on cooldown timers, players must carefully choose when to activate them. Using them at the wrong moment may leave the defense vulnerable during later waves, while saving them for the right opportunity can dramatically shift the balance of a battle. Progression is supported by an extensive upgrade system that allows players to unlock additional enhancements as they advance through the campaign. Completing missions and achieving strong performance earns medals that can be invested into a skill tree containing dozens of upgrades. These improvements affect various aspects of gameplay, such as tower efficiency, resource generation, or the strength of special abilities. The skill system encourages players to experiment with different upgrade paths and refine their defensive strategies as the campaign continues. The campaign itself spans sixteen missions across four different regions of the alien planet. Each region introduces new environmental themes and enemy types that challenge previously effective strategies. Some enemies move quickly and attempt to slip past defenses before towers can react, while others are heavily armored and require concentrated firepower to defeat. Later stages introduce even more dangerous enemies with special abilities that force players to rethink their tower placement and upgrade choices. The campaign also features several boss encounters that test the player’s defensive setup against powerful opponents capable of overwhelming poorly prepared defenses. Visually, the game adopts a colorful 3D art style combined with comic-inspired storytelling elements. The environments are designed to resemble stylized science-fiction landscapes filled with alien terrain and futuristic technology. Towers and enemies are rendered with clear silhouettes and bright effects that make it easy for players to understand what is happening on the battlefield. This visual clarity is especially important during late-game waves when multiple enemies and attacks fill the screen. The audio design complements the action with energetic background music and impactful sound effects. Tower attacks, explosions, and enemy movements are all accompanied by audio cues that help reinforce the intensity of the gameplay. The soundtrack maintains a steady pace that matches the rhythm of the defensive battles, helping to keep players engaged during longer missions. Despite its strengths, XENOBREAKERS: Classic Tower Defense remains firmly rooted in traditional tower defense design. Players familiar with the genre will recognize most of its mechanics immediately, and the game does not introduce many revolutionary systems that dramatically change the formula. Additionally, tower placement is limited to predetermined positions on the map, which simplifies some strategic elements compared to more open-ended tower defense titles. However, this design choice also helps keep the game approachable. By focusing on clear mechanics and gradual progression, the game ensures that players can quickly understand the basics while still discovering deeper strategies as they progress through the campaign. The variety of towers, enemies, and upgrade paths provides enough depth to keep the gameplay engaging across the full set of missions. Overall, XENOBREAKERS: Classic Tower Defense is a solid and well-crafted entry in the tower defense genre. Its combination of classic gameplay mechanics, comic-style storytelling, and science-fiction aesthetics creates a satisfying strategic experience that feels both nostalgic and modern. While it may not drastically reinvent the genre, it succeeds at delivering a polished and enjoyable tower defense campaign that will appeal to fans of strategic defense games. Rating: 7/10
Good game, clearly inspired by Kingdom Rush. If you like TD, you’ll probably enjoy it. Pros: - Almost no bugs. I beat the game and only ran into one minor visual glitch. Pretty clean overall. There is some unintentional behavior, though (if you kill the last enemy and it spawns other creeps on death, the game still considers the level cleared, even if new enemies just appeared). - A great variety of tower upgrades, which allows for different strategies. - I had fun. The art is decent. Cons: - Very short. In about 3 hours I got 3 stars on everything. I’m a veteran gamer, especially in TD, so keep that in mind. - While decent, the art and polish are below Kingdom Rush. That’s expected from a very small team, but sometimes I couldn’t tell enemies apart because the sprites look too similar. - Once you beat a level, that’s it. There is no challenge modes or anything like that. I read there’s a Hardcore mode, but couldn’t find it. - No easter eggs or jokes that I noticed. Not mandatory, of course, but it’s pretty common in games like this. Overall it’s good, but it’s not great.
