XCOM 2 is the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the 2012 award-winning strategy game of the year. Earth has changed and is now under alien rule. Facing impossible odds you must rebuild XCOM, and ignite a global resistance to reclaim our world and save humanity.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 11/day in the week to Aug 14 → 18.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Great game especially if you hate yourself. Nothing like a 99% chance to hit and missing to just make you want to bash your head against a wall.
Love it, also have on ipad.

The ultimate X-Com Experience. (remember when XCOM was X-Com? I member) in true sequel fashion, the geeks at firaxis doubled down on everything that worked on Enemy Unknown, and got rid of everything that didn't or was divisive. as plots go, it reminds me of the jump between UFO Aftermath and UFO Aftershock "no, you didn't win, we won, and now you have to win harder" War of the chosen brings additional strategic and tactical layers that the game feels naked without the expansion pack, so it's well worth the price tag. the other DLC are not entirely worth the hassle. the one only thing you miss from previous entries is using jet fighters to shoot down UFOs.
Not the game for me. Time limited missions constantly to force you to play aggressive / reckless . Snake type aliens that can grab a squad member 20 metres away and immobilize them. Aliens that can teleport at random and create clones of themselves that can attack you, also create a warp field that disarms your squad in a wide area. Random dice that lies about the percentage chance of success. Enjoyed the first xcom despite its flaws, but this feels less like entertainment. More like frustration.
needs much better controller and steamdeck support
