Fantastic game, love it!
I thought i was great at tactician games until this one bent me over and had it's way with me like i was the newest toy in prison for 40 hours. After 3 tries on normal mode, I finally relented and put it on the easiest mode just so i could get past the first 12 hours and ended up clearing the game with an extreme prejudice to Aliens. 10/10 already getting ready to dive into War of The Chosen mode.
I love enemy unknown and have for years. Hadn't played XCOM2 yet because I had heard the turn timers change gameplay massively. Playing my campaign with the double timers setting checked and they haven't presented much of an issue at all. Game is everything enemy unknown was and then some. Only maybe halfway through the campaign and I'm already planning a replay with long war 2 installed.
10 years later still solo good
everything
Not what I wanted from the seaquel. Feels like any pretense of a grounded immersive narrative went out of the window and now we have marver super soldeirs with scifi bs weapons everywhenre from the first second. Feels like a movie directed by Michal Bay with badass action heroes. It is also more mechanically simplistic and less elegant than the enemy uncnown leaning on hero abilities tupe of gameplay. Just does not click for me and I suspect many people who found the grounded fantasy of regular soldeirs fighting against the incomprehensible enemy appealing.
