i have over 50 hours in this game, it may be a bit complicated; however it's positives far outweigh the negatives.
Dont let the retro aesthetics fool you, this is a pretty generic game overall with unnecessarily annoying game-play mechanics and just not worth your time tbh.
This game does not even display properly. Tutorial is partially obstructed by still-on-screen character creation window. Which is so bad. 44 characters - split into two, because each has male and female version. Why not making dropdown list? Or anything else than forcing you to click 40 times to get to the last one? Geez, and that's even before game starts.

Used to play this game back in 2005 when I was in Jr High. This brings back so many memories of being lost and not knowing what to do and yet having fun. It's a bit punishing in that death after level 5 causes you to lose XP and there's a steep learning curve for fighting, but the sense of adventure in this game is, imo, unmatched. Unfortunately, with the low population, its rather barren now. It used to be heavily populated back in the day but between its great hiatus and the competition from other games of the MMO genre, there aren't a lot of people playing it. I hope now that it is on Steam, more people will check it out and play. It's got a unique charm to it and its very retro in style and game design. It's one of those games that gets better as more people play it. The community is also rather friendly and the discord group is active (There's also a subreddit, but it isn't as active as the discord). There's also a wiki that is extremely helpful. Honestly, if you love MMOs - especially old school graphical MUDs - definitely check it out. The game is free and light weight, so you honestly lose nothing from giving it a shot. Though it isn't listed here, there is also a Mac client on their website and the game is even playable from mobile on iOS and Android. I often play on the go as well.
its a fun little game there is some bugs but other than that its good reminds me of the old days.
This game is good, It's a 2d pixelated mmo with a focus on pve. It features an in-depth skill system and there's a lot of variety in enemies and the strategies they make you utilize. It's a shame there isn't much to do unless you're willing to run randomized dungeons for dozens of dozens of hours to level up and reach the end game. There are a few quests and a tutorial to help new players get familiar with the game's systems but after that all you can really do is explore and either find big enemies to fight or look for hidden objectives and loot. I have not experienced the end game yet since whenever I start grinding I eventually get bored and put down the game for a few months, it requires doing procedurally generated dungeons over and over again until you reach a high enough level to skip the low level part of said dungeons. These dungeon runs can be cut short if either you stop paying attention and get overwhealmed or if you get hit by a petrification attack and don't cure it in time. My highest level character is a pixie mage and I really enjoy the gameplay. The magic system is fun but I encountered a slight problem when I tried partying up with another player. Buff spells automatically target you but if you want to target another player you need to use console commands, this can be expedited by making a macro for targeting that specific person with that specific spell but I find it unintuative and feel like it could be made much better. This is a game has a lot of potential but not a lot of variety in the content, some of the game's systems can be hard to understand since there's a lot of information the game doesn't tell you that can be found on the wiki. Due to the way the game is programmed the marketplace is barely usable and unless you're playing with a group of friends or you're an active member of the discord server there isn't much of a point to progression once you've maxed out your guild level. There is of course the end goal of becoming a "demi-god" which is another way of saying max level character, but that requires more grinding than I am willing to do. I like this game, but it is definately not without it's faults.
Too confusing and shouldn't have to type basic instructions to play. Beyond outdated!

Loving the nostalgia so far! Should give us an option to buy starter crowns from the store page!
