Unscripted narrative RPG. Pick a world, meet its cast, and say anything — a live AI narrator writes the story around your choices while real game systems track wounds, skills and money underneath. Worlds remember what you did, and you can carry your story from one world into the next.

About
Worldrift hands you a scenario — a place, a premise, a cast of strangers — and then gets out of the way. There is no script. A narrator powered by frontier AI models runs the world around you in real time: it remembers what you did, tracks what everyone knows, and writes consequences that stick. Every playthrough is unwritten, and no two share a page.
Every beat offers grounded choices, and every beat accepts whatever you type instead. Persuade, lie, joke, escalate, walk away — the world answers you, not a dialogue tree. Quick choices keep the pace when you want it; the free-text box hands you the wheel when you don't.
Most AI fiction runs on a single model improvising one reply at a time — which is why it drifts, forgets, and settles for the easy scene. Worldrift splits the job. One model writes the narration you read. A second, deeper-thinking model works behind the scenes between your turns: it keeps the world state coherent, plans plot threads, and keeps the story ambitious — seeding complications now that pay off chapters later. There is a truth behind each mystery.
A living world state carries facts, relationships, injuries, debts and secrets forward — across scenes, days and chapters. What you break stays broken. Whoever saw you do it remembers.
Characters are cast fresh for each playthrough from a curated library, with their own looks, voices and demeanors. They keep personal memories of what you said and did — and opinions to match. Some will follow you. Some can die.
When talk stops working, Worldrift becomes a fight for your life — and the fight isn't just narrated. Combat runs on real mechanics underneath the prose: health, stamina, advantage, skills, weapons and wounds are tracked by the game, not decided by the narrator's mood. Allies act on their own, and losing isn't a rewind. Your protagonist can die. Between fights, talents grow from what you actually do, and an inventory, equipment and money tie your choices to the world around you.
Around twenty scenarios at launch, spanning fantasy, science fiction, horror, mystery and comedy: an imperial expedition to an island colony evacuated without explanation, a shift on a worn-out station orbiting a sunless world, a snowed-in guesthouse with a charming host and a body, a startup in East Austin, a griffin egg that turned out to be real. From cozy to catastrophic. Each comes with its own cast, hand-built places to explore, and rules.
And the story doesn't end with the scenario. When you're done with one world, take your protagonist — and a companion — through the rift into the next. Your history comes with you. One continuous story, across as many worlds as you care to play.
Worldrift is a visual novel in presentation: scene art, animated character portraits that shift with their mood, voiced characters who sound how they feel, and music that follows the scene. New places get their own art as the story takes you there.
Long playthroughs don't fall apart. The game was tested on playthroughs past 20,000 messages — the world still coherent, the cast still themselves — and a long story costs no more per turn to continue than a short one.
