About
WORLD RALLY ARCADE is my first ever game that I've released, and was a summer project for 2024 to see if I could be able to make and release a game on Steam.
The game is a simple single-player, race to the line game. Attack four different courses as you try to set the fastest time you can!
You versus the clock... who will come out on top?

Car feels fun to drive, if unintuitive. Your steering gains momentum, but you can go fullspeed around a hairpin if you do it right. I would have liked the ability to drift from a rally game. Not recommended because badly optimised, games description implies there are settings but I found no options menu, and couldn't drive with arrow keys, just WASD. Also it doesn't record your highscores. The first map ran fine, but the other two lagged for me.

I only can say, It could be better. for now, it's just fine I'm really confused with the UI, because I can't see highlighter (except you use mouse). sound has bug, when I turn down the BGM, it won't turned down after I apply. but, if I play it and go to main menu, it works just fine. and, the gameplay, still need some improvement (for example while we out of track it doesn't slow down) but yeah, this has potential to be great racing game. but need to adjusting here and there
There's two of us in here you know
Me he divertido con este juego, gracias por compartirlo
Very good game, I quite enjoy it. The game did constantly crash when I went onto the map "Forest" but that was due to a VRAM issue apparently. Other than that the game ran very smoothly. Good job Toby :)
Taken as a solo dev's summer project, this is actually pretty fun despite having some gripes. Before I dump on the dev with the negatives I'd like to say I have had a mostly fun time so far and that, to me, takes precedence over some of the other issues (ones that could be ironed out if time and resources allowed). Once you get a feel for the slide-happy handling, it can be enjoyable, and exciting in the same way that rally/racing games often can be - I've found some sections of the tracks genuinely thrilling - bombing through them as fast as I can whilst trying to maintain control of my slippy motor. The main negatives for me are the sometimes erratic physics which can lead to your car behaving unexpectedly (especially when landing or hitting minor areas around some track edges), a UI that could do with better highlighting selected areas (especially when using a controller to navigate) and perhaps most annoyingly, the frustrating omission of being able to reverse the chuffing car (especially when getting stuck on some piece of scenery)! I'm not expecting extensive tyre pressure, weight transfer or detailed collision modelling but come on, not having a means to reverse is about as criminal as repeatedly hearing "There's two of us in here you know" every time you have to reset the vehicle :D. I was initially going to mention how difficult I found the game, as I'd spent the best part of an hour repeating (and failing at) the supposedly easy stadium track and was left wondering what kind of sadistic game I was playing. I thought I might need an near perfect run of laps to actually complete the 5 laps required but then, whilst searching for some obtuse means to reverse, I discovered that the game has a boost/happy button - and what a difference that made! Drifting fills the boost bar so easily you get constant top-ups to help push yourself around the courses with that extra sense of urgency and speed. Boosting and sliding at the same time - wheeeeee! The game is pretty bare-boned with a single car and 4 tracks but what's there is enjoyable once you get a handle on the controls. It's all a bit sterile/asset dumped-looking but I've found the tracks to be nicely designed and fun to race on. It's easy to be critical but it seems like a promising start for a solo dev and I hope they're not discouraged enough to continue. It's fun, free and runs well enough on my ageing PC without too much tinkering, so a thumbs up here. It might not hold your attention for too long but it's welcome break from longer games for a short while and that's fine with me. If you wish to perfect your runs then it could easily occupy your time for much longer.
Physique lamentable à la limite du ridicule. Bugs en pagailles: réceptions sauts, contact avec les murs, ext ... Bref à revoir de fond en comble.
god game. mabye mor game modes. mabye a race?
