About
Woodswalker is an entirely solo-developed first-person survival horror game in which you've just been hired as a night ranger in the Cook County forest preserves. You must frantically balance your own survival with saving the lives of the innocent campers under your domain.
Frantic Gameplay - Throughout the night, the monster will become increasingly aggressive. You will have less and less time to read your messages, decide its importance, and make it to the light before your fate is sealed.
Many Secrets - Explore a detailed story through puzzle-solving. Use environmental clues and good thinking to unlock boxes, find new cassette tapes, enter hidden areas, and locate secrets.
A Dark, Wintry Atmosphere - Immerse yourself into the surroundings with attention to detail on sound and lighting.
Replayability - With 18 hidden achievements, a rich, secret-filled storyline, and maybe even a hidden difficulty, there is plenty to keep yourself busy with.

The game seemingly goes for that retro kinda pixilated look, but it just ends up looking blurry, The gameplay is also incredibly boring, you start your day, get either a phone call or a fax, they are both the same thing, on the same table, the only difference is the sound they make to alert you they appeared, and what the textbox looks like, you than take the location thats stated at the top of the text box and click the location on the map. and if you hear a rustle outside that you climb a ladder and spin the search light around to find the moster. all of this happens within 10 seconds usually, so you dont usually get to read whats been faxed or called, and its very unclear whats happening aswell. the achievements are also all hidden, and the game has a file size thats much larger than some games ive played with much more content, along with everything being so obscure this game is not really worth trying out unless you find very fast paced but very reptitive gameplay fun for extended periods

hey i dont seem to be the only one to say this but you really need to slow things down at least for the first bit. theres clearly a lot of work done here and the tutorial does a good job at giving you narratively and thematically the broad strokes of what to do, but that doesnt help much if when the game starts after the tape the phone immediately rings, you get one sentence and if its your first time youre probably waiting for the person on the phone to say where they are, you know, like a person would, so then youd know where to put the light on the map. but they dont, you have to look at the speaker's name? i mean ok kinda unintuitive but sure. weird you dont put it in the text anyway, its not like its meant as a puzzle or an obstacle to not know who to help, and theres no vo so just put it in there. anyway sorry. so yeah lets assume youre not old like me and you can read the map text, i couldnt, maybe just make it bigger for the old timers, or not. so back to how the tutorial doesnt actually help. you get a call every ten seconds and one says they see something, ok cool i know to do that i gotta use some light ok where is it? oh i have to leave the cabin, look for a tower next door in the dark, climb up like the flash and move the spotlight with wasd and not the mouse? ok so another weird non-intuitive thing that im not sure why that is a thing especially since youre saying this game needs quick reflexes why cant i just wheel with the mouse? anyways i climb back down and when the phone rings a third time like before i actually can tell OH im supposed to look at the speaker to know where the light goes (again weird, not sure why the people wouldn't say hey im in this cabin can you give us some light" but whatever) i go to the map look for tiny letters saying barrow la-im stabbed by something and die. dude ive literally never played your game before. i get its hectic by design, but maybe slow down at least for a minute or something? lol the games you're emulating take plenty of time to build things up. which reminds me, the frantic pace basically anhiliates any atmosphere in the game. let it breathe dude! youre talking about deep lore and story and all this stuff, no one is going to see any of it! i mean i didnt, just saw luis got fired for drinking. so yeah uh. sorry for sounding more hars than i meant to, thanks for sharing the game but i can't really recommend it since its not really hard as much as its balanced for you and no one else atm.

What were people meant to do with this game before the tutorial was patched in? I was able to play through it fine, but it did bluescreen my computer
