LuanaGames' first video game is WoMen in Science. At first glance, the game is clunky and rough around the edges. In spite of its clunkiness, this is a game with heart and a fresh take on farming sims. As a starting point, let's look at the unique game mechanics: farmers can switch between scythes, hoes, pickaxes, etc., based on the object that they're facing. Also, Water Drones automatically water each crop in the early morning: It feels like an ode to the Harvest Sprites of the Harvest Moon series. Different genes in seeds can prove beneficial, or detrimental, such as being resistant to pests or requiring more water. Soil can become depleted of nutrients. It's up to the farmer to balance enough carbon and nitrogen for their compost. There are real scientists or scientists-adjacent characters like "Melon Husk" and the dialogue is real, engaging like Temple explaining her difficulty keeping eye contact in noisy situations. There is a random name generator for farm animals, which provides names such as "Margaret Hatcher". There is even a transgender/gender non-conforming story farmers can engage with. While LuanaGames have shifted focus to an upcoming card game and WoMen in Science won't be receiving any major changes in the near future, it's still a worthwhile game to pick up, support an indie developer, and explore this uplifting world that farmers can explore, build, and raise cute farm animals on.

7/10
Such a unique, interesting, fun, and inclusive game. It's a shame that it's no longer available.
