Game is far from finished, though you can't really know that until you're past the two hour return window. The final area of the game is so buggy that the ground disappears making it very difficult to finish the game, while the rest of the game is isn't much better as you get stuck on scenery and the environment constantly and on more than one occasion I got softlocked and had to reload the game to get out. It's a real shame too because this is a really great idea for a little game and I really liked the core gameplay loop of exploration, finding wisps, and then drawing them to complete side quests for various characters. The worldbuilding and design is really neat as well and some of the traversal shows a lot of promise, especially after you get the hoverboard. Overall, this feels like a solid first draft for a much better game that never came about. Treated like that it's fine, but when combined with its unfinished nature I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone.
EDIT: My earlier positive review itself still stands. It's a cute and a neat concept for a couple bucks. But the Devs seem to have completely abandoned the game. No fixes, no communication since release. It's not gonna happen, but until there is an update, this review will be negative. Stop releasing games and never caring about them afterwards. --- Original Review: Wisper is a cute little game where you search for creatures in a semi-open world. You wander around different biomes/areas, find and draw creatures and help some NPCs by either locating creatures or bringing them one. Level after level you get different tools to traverse the landscape. After each level there is some sort of "Boss"-Creature, which has some advanced puzzles or parkour. It's a nice concept and has some cool moments for about 2 to 4 hours playtime. But, there are currently a couple too many bugs and oversights: There are no control rebinds, neither is there a list of the controls. Sometimes you can pick up creatures or items, to bring them to a NPC, but there seems to be no way to discard them, so you are forced to find the solution to the quest, jump into water and get respawned, or even reload the game. The last two bosses are infuriating, because you need to draw the creatures within a timelimit, with your mouse on a rail, which is very janky imo. If you fail this, you basically restart that boss. You can clip through multiple structures in the landscape. To get free you have to go back to the menu and load back in. The last boss actually managed it twice to push me out of bounds. Some of the parkour elements are placed in a really bad way, sometimes resulting in trial and error. Achievments don't work! Overall, this game could have used a bit more testing and polishing. But if you don't mind the bit of jank, go get it. It is still a fun and cute game to pass a couple hours.
had what seemed to be a lot of potential.. adorable game idea, was excited for release... then it released... unfortunately i have put in for a refund. As it is it still needs work. If it was early access, I would hold onto it and hope for updates to fix.. but as its not, I tap out of this one... very disappointed
Update: I like the game but I don't recommend it now, because Wisper needs more time to development and polishing it! This game probabilly was made by a small team but you can see that game was making by people who embrace this project. It's a good game with modest graphics and a good soundtrack. The mechanic that i most like was drawing the wisps, an interesting mechanic to "collect" the wisps. Sorry for any grammar error english doesn't are my native language.
I'm a little surprised most of the reviews have been negative given that the game is fun and still fully playable despite some polish being needed. However, there is a game breaking oversight that prevents players from completing the game. You can access and finish the final region before finishing the second final region, so I did everything out of order despite 100%ing the game. There are some other issues I've noticed: Achievements and the mail system simply doesn't work. Sometimes dialogue cant be exited, and you have to restart the game. The map is near useless. Overall, the game is actually pretty good but I'm a little bitter I never could complete it.
Unfortunatly, it's far from being finished. Also achievments don't work.
