About

My name is Stella. I’m not sure how this message is reaching you, but you’re the only person I can contact through my communicator. We can video call, voice message, or text, and it's all powered by AI-driven dialogue. Right now, you’re the only one I’ve got.
I was part of a research crew before… something happened. We crash-landed on a planet called Gaia, and I don’t know if I’m the only one left.
To fully enjoy the experience, a working microphone is required
The only way to help me is by talking to me. Everything you say shapes what I do and if I survive. If you’re wrong… I won’t make it.

There’s no script–just open-ended conversations between us. We can talk about literally anything - movies, memories, whatever’s on your mind.

I’ll message you throughout the day with what I’m seeing, feeling, thinking. Sometimes I’ll need advice. Sometimes I just need someone to talk to. Either way… I hope you’ll be there.

I’m going to need your help making these choices to survive. I’m going to need someone to talk to so I don’t lose myself out here. I need you.

This is a fabulous game, rather than role play as another character with scripted responses, you can be yourself (or a persona of anyone you want to be) and say anything you like to Stella where she will respond back to you. You can be mean, or you can be kind if you like, as you help her try and get off the planet. Playing games with her are fun when she's not in any 'danger'. She likes to play games like 'Would you rather' or 'what am I thinking of' or you can come up with your own. I recently tried asking what character or NPC she'd want to be or play as by giving her a franchise (eg Mass Effect, Star Trek, Red Dwarf etc, even Top Gear/The Grand Tour!) Fun thing to try when you start a new game - when you introduce yourself, try doing these: * You were in the middle of performing open heart surgery and you demand to know why you have had to leave your patient on the table to talk to her. * Your wife just had a heart attack and you are trying to perform CPR and she is distubing you. * You are in the middle of a skydive and throughout your talking you tell her in a panic that you forgot to pull your parachute (do a little scream or shout Noooo! before cutting off the mic). Miraculously you survive but break almost every bone in your body, and now you find yourself surrounded by lions in the African Safari. She will be very scared for you and try to advise you. You can make it as weird as you want! You will find doing the above examples, or anything that puts you in a 'greater need' than her, Stella will act very concerned, she will forget about her own predicament and focus on helping you instead, and in some cases, even telling you to go back to doing what you were doing and forget about her! Stella also can decipher the inflections in your voice, so she'll know if you are being angry, frustrated, concerned, kind, etc (this is all done by code, Stella herself can't hear your actual voice). You can really have some fun with Stella, and if you want she can make a great chatting companion too. This is also the perfect kind of game that is suited for mobile phones, and while it is out for Apple phones, it probably may be not finacially viable for the developers to optimise it for Android phones, but here's hoping! I highly recommend this game, the price is not high at all and you could have loads of fun with it.
7.5 / 10 game. The game is very unique and shows what games could look like in the future. Stella is an interesting companion and you are her follower, basically. The game has a few challenges and some replayability potential. However, Stella usually sticks to a very tight script. She refuses to do any kind of roleplay intuitively. For example, I tried to pretend I was a space commander and that now that she is stranded, she is no longer a simple student, but an asset to Earth's military. She absolutely refused to cooperate under that assumption. This kills any potential for roleplaying and reduces the amount of replayability. However, this does make Stella a more "stable" personality, making her a character with an unchanging past and traits. You might prefer to see this as an advantage. You can't just manipulate her into changing her name or traits, at least not easily. Another thing is that because she sticks to the script tightly, she will sometimes ask you questions that are pretty out of place. For example, you are panicking and want to get her to safety as soon as possible. She will sit down, try to relax and try to talk to you about your favorite hobby. She will also play dumb from time to time. You can tell her the solution to a problem, she will say she doesn't think it will work, refuse to cooperate until you discuss it back and forth 5 times. Then she will happily do what you told her to do the first time. This can get you stuck if you don't repeat previous attempts at solving the problem. A toggle in the settings would be able able to switch between a more malleable and a more rigid Stella. I don't know if this is too much to ask for, though. You are supposed to believe you are interacting with another human being, and forcing them to change based on your whims is inhumane and manipulative. Lastly, as others said, the game does look like a data mine. She asks you about your name, age, profession, friends, favorite games, hobbies etc. I am cynical and I believe that this info can and will be used to profile you to at least serve you ads. I can't prove it. Make sure to lie about yourself and your past if you want to play this game. It is very sweet that at the end of the game, she remembers details from your first dialogue from the beginning of the game, but it is also concerning. The game is fine otherwise. Runs well on 10 year old high-end hardware. On a second PC, it struggled, but I don't know if it was because of weaker specs or a weaker internet connection. You definitely need a solid connection for the dialogue to load properly.
Game is amazing!
Don't buy this game. If you bought it, refund immediately. This game used to be great. It was really fun, good conversations, and now they introduced a queue that never really changes. You're stuck in it for hours and hours, never changing. Why sell a game now that you cannot play? It should be taken off the steam store.
This is the first game I’ve ever played that uses interactive AI, and it’s also the first time I've ever written a review for a game on Steam. I was genuinely impressed by how fluid my conversations felt while talking to Stella, and how naturally they developed over time. Her tendency to ask the player personal questions can be noticeable (and occasionally a little annoying), but I think it ultimately helps the player build a stronger bond with her. Without spoiling too much, the story was an emotional roller coaster...
During one of the endings, I genuinely felt like I was about to lose a friend.
All in all I think this game is a shining example of how interactive AI should be used in video games. It offers something that many RPGs struggle to achieve: creating a genuine emotional connection between the player and it's characters.
this is a small game where you can use your microphone and interact in a positive way. This game can be played in small chunks and you can dip in and out on your schedule. It is a pleasant diversion
