Whirligig Media Player

Great for Academic research.

As a tester of the recent PCVR version 5 beta. I used almost all VR players from Standalone to PCVR. I will say Whirligig is the top best especially for porn watching. - Mouse input in VR. Basically you can watch and adjust anythings without the controllers. - In game binding. You can bind features to controllers, Xbox gamepad, and also to keyboard. If there are mouse binding this will be the final winner. - Presets. You can save all settings as different presets. And also for every individual movie. - Many adjustments for VR porn correction. Color, Position, Depth, Camera misplace. You can also do some kinds of stretch and resize if you want a lady looks slimmer, tiny or bigger. - Sharpener. It works much better then other players. Next to the Virtual Home Theater, but that is 8 times expensive. - Best playback performance I tried.

This app has gone down in quality, continuous issues plague each version.

Has more options for controls than other players, but no proper Index Controller integration (the touch pad is tread as 1 singular button wth), also the tilt control can't be changed from 0,5 increments and give me motion sickness because it's so unsmooth. Also: why do i have to set the proper 180° SBS individually for every video. Way too clunky all in all

Great software for watching movies. Has lots of cool enviroments to choose from including some that allow background lighting to match the movie or TV shows. UI is still quite complicated and devided at the moment although hoping for improvements to this in the future. Dev seems to be active and still working on this app so with this app on PC is my favorite for watching my own movies (including 3D movies) and Fluid app for watching movies via Plex. Both are good for different reasons. Would recommend to pick this up as to me this is the best PC app for watching your own movies. I would however recommend after installation to download and install LAV filters codecs to have everything work well. The default VLC codec does not work the best for me (video is very jerky like low frames) but the other codecs work great once the new codecs are installed.

Для меня на данный момент это лучший видеоплеер, хотя мой обзор не объективен: я выбрал его в первую очередь из-за того, что им можно пользоваться и без VR, поэтому оцениваю скорее по этому критерию, а не по всем возможностям и сравнению с другими плеерами. При этом поддержка виртуальной реальности тоже есть. Самое главное - работает счетчик времени в Steam, можно мотать видео стрелками, а громкость регулируется колесиком. Пока добавить нечего, потому что я еще не разобрался полностью…

Klasse Videoplayer für 3D/180/360 Grad Videos mit vielen Optionen, um alles an seine Bedürfnisse anzupassen. Gleichzeitig aber auch nicht so überladen wie andere Player. Soll heißen man kann auch einfach ein Video starten ohne ewig in Menüs verbringen. Und obwohl der Player bereits 2016 mit den ersten SteamVR Headsets erschien, wird er jetzt, 9 Jahre später, immer noch mit Updates versorgt. Das ist einsame Spitze!
