SAVE YOUR MONEY. The developers just gave up and it clearly shows in this project. It's a shame too, because I've been looking forward to this game's completion since 2016.
yall took fifteen plus years to make a bad imitation of an n64 game i'm so sorry to anyone who's ever wasted their time on this mdickie made like twenty increasingly good increasingly complex wrestling games in the time it took this one to be a 3/10 and mdickie's games are STILL BAD
I remember being so stoked for this game... It's been damn near twenty years and they've done NOTHING to improve this game. I'm surprised it's even available on steam.
It's been in Early Access for nearly a decade at this point. It's not in active development anymore, it's just a failed attempt at something that could have been cool, but isn't. I hope in another 10 years it's finished and they prove me wrong, but I doubt it.
I cant even remember how many years i've waited for this to turn into a even a halfway decent wrestling title. it hasn't and it wont. Dont waste your money.
Just wait for Ultra Pro Wrestling. Ive given this game chance after chance after chance to get better. Each update makes me wonder what is even going on. No clear road map, the game hasnt shown a marginal improvement since 2014. Theres so many other wrestling games out there. Get fire pro wrestling. Get WWE 2k. Get AEWs game. Try the booking simulators, but do not encourage developers who see 10 years in early access with making the jump from n64 graphics to Gamecube with worse animations as improvement. Save your time and money
My Personal Game Score: 3 / 10 + Good enough game graphics and design + Lots of options on the way the character move. + Lots of objects to select and use. - Its like a bare bone game - WWE Smackdown vs Raw(2007) is much more better than this game in terms of game-play. - The game has a lot of potential. Only if the developers work more on the games game-play than the design and stuff.
With every update i hope for a big game change to how this game plays, at this point it would be easier for them to just start fresh with a new engine the game feels so stiff and outdated the fact they are talking about leaving early access in the state it is in blows my mind.
The game latest update was this year and you think after a while, some progress would be made since it's release in 2014, right? Well, you'd be wrong. Honestly? If this was still 2014, I'd say the game is going great. But we're not. We're at the end of 2024. Ten years after release and the games has all sorts of issues. The controls seems fine for the most part since it's using classic directional input and a button command. But sometimes I feel like it is also based of where the character is facing and not the direction I'm inputting. It also doesn't really explain well how to put pressure as I struggle to finish a match with submissions. Also, the create a wrestler feels non existent with majority of the sample wrestler having the same height and there's no color editing for the wrestling gear or logo. What's up with that? Furthermore the game, while it does warn it is only single-player, you'd think by now they would have cracked multiplayer to mess around with friends. And the blood texture is whack. It ain't placed properly on the wrestler. Let alone it ain't even putting physics properly. If you try to slam opponent on a table or try to hit them when on top of turnbuckle, expect to see a blood texture floating out of nowhere. This game been out for 10 years, and it still struggles to do what it was set out to do which was replicate old wrestling game fun. I don't know where the developers have been the last 10 years that the recent update was the blood addition. The only fun thing about this game is mostly being able to mindlessly kick and punch and grapple, if you can ignore every other incorrect thing happening around them. Honestly? I would have been fun with the mindless kick and punch, if it was with at least local multiplayer. I'm lucky I got it on a sale. But if you ask me? Save your money. Find something else.
It’s been 10 years in early access. Let’s just call it what it is: access. I can’t recommend it, ambitious but he flew too close to the sun on muscular wings.
