Whip! Whip!

There've been many retro fanfare games over the past decade however Whip! Whip! feels the most genuine and closest to a coinop that would've sat proudly between Popeye, Mappy and Pengo down at the local Chucky Cheese Only fall back is that a game like this (or Popeye, Pengo, etc) can be covered in a very short review after only fifteen minutes of play but die hard 80's arcades fans will agree that the concept is stupidly simple while at the same time very original and aiken to the developers of yore. Game play consists of several one-room static levels (like Mario Bro.s (the 1st one that took place in the sewers with Luigi) ) before facing off a boss, this standard pattern rinses repeats. You can move (or jump with A) in four directions or hold any of those directions while pressing x to sling your mitten to kill enemies and grab goodies littered about the stage. Like a retracting grapple, your character will qucikly follow the direction you slung your mittten in and you can use this to line up enemies and goodies to keep in persistant movement while racking up combo points.
