A hauntingly beautiful indie gem that will stay with me for a long time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game, and honestly cannot recommend it enough. It is short, yes, but it's very cheap, and beyond fair for the quality it offers. I recommend going into this game as spoiler-free as possible, and will be keeping this review as spoiler-free as possible. First, the good. The pacing was impeccable. The way the various parts of the game blended together was nothing short of masterful. Graphics aren't as good as modern games, but they're that way intentionally. For the style, they're amazing. The diner feels cozy and inviting, and I wish I could have stayed longer. The majority of the voice acting, too, is great. Now, the bad. My biggest complaint is that the ending felt a bit abrupt for my liking. Then again, I do think it works with the style they were going for. While most of the voice acting is good, there are a few lines that are said strangely. I do agree with some of the other reviews, that some of the dialogue feels strange and disjointed. To me, this seems more like a possible translation than AI. Still, most of it is good and kept me immersed throughout the game. For me, the positives far outweigh the negatives. You can tell just how much heart was put into this game. It's a clear labor of love that punches far above its weight, considering the cheap price.

Una piccola avventura narrativa che ci catapulta in una tavola calda,con personaggi bizzarri che ci chiederanno aiuto con i loro problemi e starà a noi aiutarli mentre la fine del mondo si avvicina.. Una bella storia con qualche minigioco qua e là per far scorrere l'intera durata che è praticamente quella di un film, lo consiglio vivamente un ottimo titolo senza particolare difetti che offre una buona scrittura e fa vedere i lati grigi del animo umano 8/10

It tells a simple story in an interesting way and I got a bit too into managing the diner even though that's not the point of the game. And for a $5 game, it has great music, voice acting, art style, story, etc. Would love to see more games like this from the dev!

Not a bad walking sim with a thriller story. While We Wait Here has more than one outcome and choices matter. I almost packed it up during the prologue. I was thinking "what is this? Some sort of diner simulator?" But there is much more to it than that. It has a good story, although it is a bit predictable if you're paying attention. I'd give it a decent 6.5/10 with my top complaint being the cumbersome controls to start with. After you get the hang of it, it is fine. A pro tip, do not overload your inventory and do not pursue the achievement for making every recipe. It won't pop until you have served everyone throughout the game.
