Wheel World

Wonderful game! A super chill open-world biking experience with gorgeous visuals and absolute chef’s kiss music. Great game to turn of your brain. Runs amazing on the Steam Deck.

It's basically pure bike racing and the racing part of the game is very basic. Mariokart or something like that would be far more entertaining. Combine with a high difficulty and tedious part searching I only lasted two hours. And one of those hours was trying to find ways to make it enjoyable.

Wheel World is really good if you are going for a more relaxed experience. You should go into it for the vibes, the exploration, and expecting a light challenge. Since the protagonist has a they/them vibe, I was wondering if the story would ever start pandering "The Message" to me, but no, it's an uncomplicated story that's there to give more texture to the world, all good.

Wow this game has been out for nearly a year and I am just now getting to it?? This is one of my favorites at the moment. I love the scope of this game, and how clear the goals are to the player. It's got just the right amount of points of interest to feel good for short and long play sessions. I can see the Zelta BOTW inspiration and they took all the right parts of that to apply to a game about biking. Nice work!

This game has good vibes and is not hard. The AI racers are entirely useless except as obstacles. The second half of the game gets incrementally harder, and that is where I felt I had to use the core mechanic of customizing the bike for the specific race for the first time. While it isn't hard, that makes it easy to pick up, play a race, and put down without spending more than 10 minutes. This is the only 3D bicycle racing game I've played, and I liked making the bike look like the one I ride every day. Mostly it made me want to go on a bike ride once the weather improves, so pretty good overall.

Not a perfect racing game, but this one is very cozy and nice) Good vibe, good cyclist's humor)
