What Lies in the Multiverse - Prologue

Enjoyed it for a 1 or 2 minutes of my 39 minute playtime. The writing is fun sometimes, and sometimes exactly what I need to hear, but the gameplay is a slog.

Prologue gratuit d'un jeu sorti en mars 2022. Dans sa chambre d’enfant où règne un chat boudeur, un jeune geek se trouve projeté dans un univers parallèle où il rencontre le facétieux Everett dont il devient l’assistant et grâce auquel il va rencontrer de nombreux pnj qui semblent annoncer une sombre histoire. Jeu de plateforme dans lequel on explore deux mondes : l'un, zen et verdoyant, où se promènent des moines bouddhistes parmi les arbres ou près d'un point d'eau ; l'autre, obscur et ravagé, est parsemé de cadavres. En alternant instantanément entre les deux, on profite des différences de chacun pour libérer là un passage, combler ici un trou qui semblait infranchissable, réussir un enchaînement de sauts ou placer une caisse au bon endroit. Je ne suis en principe pas fan des jeux de plateforme mais ce prologue m'a tellement plu que j'ai acheté le jeu complet. L'ambiance et les graphismes sont sympas et s'il faut un minimum d'habileté pour réussir à enchaîner les sauts, la gestion des deux univers apporte une dose de réflexion bienvenue pour résoudre des énigmes et récupérer des clés.

"What Lies in the Multiverse - Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "What Lies in the Multiverse". What Lies in the Multiverse is yet another godawful 2D retro pixel platformer, one of literally thousands of these on Steam, lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere just by existing. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not What Lies in the Multiverse, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "What Lies in the Multiverse - Prologue" too. The objective of this advertisement is to get you to fork out an eye watering $15 USD to buy the full game... and I don't recommend you do. Fifteen bucks... seriously, if amateur devs want to get paid the same money as real developers, they have to learn how to do video game graphics like real developers first. No pixelcrap is worth $15. What a joke. This is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 6 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.

Пишу обзор сразу после прохождения демо-версии. Я ооооооочень не люблю "мультивселенные", "параллельные реальности", но здесь это настолько шикарно подано, что очень затягивающе. Был готов к тому, что тут будет очень много трешатины, обилие чёрного или нездорового юмора, но здесь с этим всё более или менее норм, как минимум, в демо-версии, что удивило. Лично мне не нравится механика переключения миров, но опять же, она тут настолько хорошо и интересно реализована, что здесь это не надостаток, а даже плюс. Игра мне кажется смесью Dreaming Sarah, Undertale и Inmost. Визуал шикарный, так и хочется постоянно оставаться в тёмном мире... Вот только если бы не дичь, которая там происходит. Если бы сделали его более уютным, было бы ну вообще шедевр. Поменять происходящее в мирах местами)) Геймплэй уж слишком до банальщины простой, но, спасибо хоть, что не метроидвания. Загадки в меру сложные, ни лёгкие, ни простые. Игра на протяжении всей предоставленной демоверсии сохраняет захватывающую непредсказуемость. И (!!!!) она довольно продолжительна для демки, обычно делают минут около двадцати и обрыв. Я даже думал, что играю в полную версию. Два листа с чёрным по белому заботливым предупреждением о содержимом игры производят хорошее впечатление о разработчиках. Как итог: проект показался оригинальным и качественным, а разработчики перспективными.

В прологе предстоит пройти пролог и первую главу из основной игры. Здесь можно будет познакомиться с основными механиками и понять хотите ли вы изучить местную мультивселенную. Рекомендую сразу брать оригинальную игру, чтобы два раза не проходить одно и то же, ведь игра стоит, чтобы её пройти.

Все равно никто не читает мои отзывы. Кину рецепт Пельмени "Сибирские" Продукты Для фарша: Говядина - 200 г Свинина - 200 г Баранина (или куриная грудка) - 200 г Лук репчатый - 2 шт. Соль - 0,5 ч. л. Перец - 1 щепотка Вода (ледяная) - 2 ст. л. * Для теста: Мука - 2 стакана Яйцо - 1 шт. Вода (ледяная) - 0,5 стакана Соль - 1 щепотка Просеянную муку перемешать с ледяной водой, яйцом и солью. Замесить тесто. Накрыть тесто полотенцем и дать постоять минут 20-30. Сделать фарш. Для этого нарезать кусочками всё мясо и слегка подморозить в морозильной камере. Очистить лук. Перемолоть в мясорубке мясо вместе с луком. Добавить соль, перец, ледяную воду. Хорошо перемешать фарш. Тесто разделить на части. Каждую часть раскатать в тонкий пласт. С помощью рюмки сделать круглые заготовки. На каждый кружочек теста выложить фарш. Соединить края теста и тщательно скрепить. Соединить и слепить хвостики, формируя пельмени. Выложить пельмени на доску и отправить в морозилку. Сварить замороженные пельмени. Для этого вскипятить (в казанке) 3 л воды или бульона, посолить. Варить замороженные пельмени примерно 7 минут после того, как они всплывут на поверхность. Готовые сибирские пельмени выложить на блюдо, заправить маслом, сметаной или уксусом, посыпать перцем и свежей зеленью. Приятного аппетита!
