What have you done, Father?

Positives:
+ Fantastic graphics + Good sounds and music + Acceptable voiceover/voiceacting + Everything is so gorgeously designed with a lot of details + Achievements + The atmosphere + Divided into chapters (for easy achievement completion) + Beautiful, creepy, gory, bloody, spooky and twisted (all at once) + The storytelling + There are some animations this time around + Small puzzles
Negatives:
- Videos still cant be skipped - Very low FOV (and no adjuster) - 60 FPS lock - Almost no options or settings in general - Most of the dialogue is without voiceacting - Quite short length (over in about 3 hours)
Conclusion:
After playing DWs previous games, I knew what to expect. And I didnt get disappointed. Its beautifully handcrafted and very well made. And remember this is all done by ONE single indie developer. Its so impressive, and a whole lot of quality work. I still think though that DWs previous game "Last Days of Lazarus" is a bit better and also longer. And why didnt you include a FOV adjuster or a higher FPS option like in your previous titles? There is no reason not to, so please dont make the same mistake in your next game (which Im really looking forward to). But all in all, I highly reccommend the game!
Total Score: 8/10
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It´s a short dark game. I really liked the twisted idea. The whole way it´s presented is very athmospheric. Sure it may a bit clunky. For example i spent 30 minutes looking for the tea service in the beginning (it´s in your own room). Remember, we´re talking of a one man project here and for this ammount of manpower it really is more than solid. The graphics look really good. Some (obvious) AI use but that doesn´t rally make the narrative worse. As said. I have no problems artists use any tools they can get to make their vision and ideas true. The price is a mixed bag but you just have to decide for yourself if you want to spend 11 Bucks on a 2 hour game. But i have to say, i was entertained so i am okay with it. I came for a dreadful and unsetteling story. And that´s exactly what i got. Chapeau!
pretty decent, quest items are sometime quite missable
Loved it amazing graphics and never would of guessed the plot twist please try this game x
Wow! I will be following this developer closely from now on. I can't believe it's been made by ONE person. This is some seriously impressive stuff! Devoured it in one sitting, very charming and gripping game.
What Have You Done, Father? is a tightly focused psychological horror adventure that places narrative, atmosphere, and moral unease at the center of its experience. Developed and published by Darkania Works, the game follows Father Mathias Marton, a priest whose routine life is shattered after a disturbing incident involving a mysterious woman leads to violence and an unfolding mystery within the walls of his rectory. From the opening moments, the game establishes a heavy, introspective tone, positioning the player not as a heroic problem-solver, but as a deeply conflicted individual grappling with guilt, temptation, and the consequences of hidden actions. The gameplay is built primarily around exploration and investigation, favoring immersion over mechanical complexity. Players move through a confined but richly detailed environment, examining rooms, personal belongings, written notes, and subtle environmental clues that gradually piece together the truth of what occurred. The rectory itself becomes a character, its quiet halls and shadowed corners creating a persistent sense of unease. Rather than relying on constant threats or jump scares, the game builds tension slowly through silence, ambient sound, and the uncomfortable implications suggested by the objects you uncover. Narrative pacing is deliberate and linear, guiding the player through a clearly structured sequence of chapters that steadily escalate in intensity. This approach keeps the experience focused and cohesive, ensuring that each discovery meaningfully contributes to the overall story. While the lack of branching paths or alternate endings limits replayability from a purely narrative standpoint, it also allows the developers to deliver a carefully controlled emotional arc. The story unfolds less like a traditional mystery with multiple outcomes and more like a psychological descent, emphasizing internal conflict as much as external events. A defining aspect of the game is its willingness to engage with mature and uncomfortable themes. Temptation, suppressed desire, and moral hypocrisy are woven into the narrative in ways that are meant to unsettle rather than entertain. These elements are not the centerpiece of the experience, but they play a role in illustrating the protagonist’s fractured state of mind and the broader themes of sin and self-denial. Player reactions to this aspect may vary, but within the context of the story, it serves to deepen the psychological tension rather than distract from it. Technically and artistically, the game delivers a strong presentation for an indie project of its scale. Lighting and environmental detail are used effectively to shape mood, while sound design plays a crucial role in maintaining tension. Sparse music, ambient noises, and occasional voice acting help ground the experience and reinforce emotional beats without overwhelming the player. Controls and interface design are simple and intuitive, keeping attention on exploration and storytelling rather than mechanical friction. Despite its relatively short runtime, What Have You Done, Father? manages to leave a lasting impression by staying true to its core strengths. It does not attempt to pad its length with filler content or unnecessary mechanics, instead delivering a compact experience that respects the player’s time. Optional collectibles and environmental details reward thorough exploration, adding depth for those who wish to engage more deeply with the world and its story. Ultimately, What Have You Done, Father? succeeds as a concentrated narrative-driven horror experience that prioritizes mood, introspection, and psychological discomfort over spectacle. Its strength lies in how confidently it tells a dark, personal story within a limited scope, using atmosphere and thematic boldness to leave a lingering impact. For players who appreciate slow-burn horror, investigative storytelling, and indie games unafraid to explore morally challenging subject matter, it offers a compelling and memorable journey. Rating: 8/10
So bad
Man this game was deep!!!
The game was quite good. I just found the ending very confusing. I don't mean the resolution at the end of the game...Otherwise, I would have liked to see a bit more difference in the men's faces. To me, they look almost the same...The rooms are beautifully designed, including the little details. I love that kind of thing in games! <3
This's a great game with an interesting plot and with a weird and unpredictable ending. Beautifull visual and environment art. I really like this game.
