What a Cluster Fight

What a Cluster Fight is an unpolished console-esque 2D retro pixel PvP only platformer/shooter with a focus on local gameplay. I'm inclined to suggest this is in no small part a Unity Asset flip, as the game executable name is "Platform Battle", presumably the Unity template they've ripped off here, and in line with an asset flip, the quality is deplorably low. But to give them the benefit of the doubt, and to let gamers know how bad things are here, I'll go over the other aspects of the game. The first thing gamers should know is that this doesn't work, and can't be played. On the store page, the developers admit they didn't know how to use a mouse + keyboard and couldn't make it work properly in a PC game, which is a pretty bad thing to admit to. However, in the game menu, you can choose KB+M as your control scheme. Right. However, you can't launch the game using the assigned button to do so (Enter key). So, I borrowed a console peasant children's toy gamepad, sterilised it, plugged it in and determined you can't start the game with that either. Presumably absolutely zero testing has been done here. This is designed as a game for console peasants, but it was dumped on Steam instead. Why? Because the console makers have quality standards and would have kicked these guys out of the building as soon as they tried to get in with this garbage. The only quality control Valve has is checking that the $100 fee to list the game gets paid. Regardless, it's console garbage at heart. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution is locked. The retro pixel "art" assets are deplorably low quality. There's no single player component, the developers were unable to come up with any kind of content and were really hoping that other players are an acceptable substitute for doing their jobs and adding content to the game. Other players are not an acceptable substitute. I really hope that this is an asset flip, because it would be embarrassing for the developers to have made something of such shockingly low quality. That doesn't stop them from dumping keys in bulk to bundlemongers, DailyIndieGame, so there's not a lot of sympathy here. I can't recommend this garbage to gamers.
