I had so much fun playing this. This is an excellent card game and it is a great loss to the community. No idea why such a great thing has to vanish.

Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions brings the legendary civil war of the Warhammer universe into the digital card game genre with impressive authenticity and strategic depth. Developed and published by Everguild, this free-to-play collectible card game places players in command of iconic Space Marine Legions, legendary Primarchs, and other memorable factions as they battle through one of the most significant conflicts in Warhammer history. Rather than simply borrowing its setting for cosmetic appeal, the game successfully integrates the lore into its mechanics, making every faction and commander feel distinct while remaining faithful to the source material. The core gameplay revolves around tactical one-on-one card battles where every decision carries weight. Players build customized decks around powerful warlords, balancing offensive units, tactical actions, and support cards to create effective strategies. Resource management, battlefield control, and proper timing are essential, as careless plays can quickly shift momentum in an opponent's favor. Each Legion introduces unique mechanics that encourage different approaches to combat, whether relying on overwhelming aggression, defensive resilience, calculated control, or intricate card combinations. This diversity prevents matches from becoming repetitive and rewards players who invest time in mastering multiple playstyles. One of the game's strongest features is the sheer variety of content available. Beyond competitive ranked matches, players can experience story-driven campaigns inspired by major events of the Horus Heresy, offering an engaging way to revisit famous battles while learning more about the universe. Limited-time events, draft-style tournaments, and seasonal competitions further expand the experience by encouraging players to adapt to changing conditions instead of relying on a single perfected deck. These rotating activities provide consistent incentives to return, keeping the game fresh even after many hours of play. Deck construction serves as the foundation of long-term progression. The expanding roster of Legions, commanders, and collectible cards offers countless opportunities to experiment with different strategies. Creating an effective deck involves more than assembling powerful cards; players must consider synergy, energy costs, battlefield presence, and responses to common threats. Frequent content updates introduce additional cards and mechanics that continue to reshape the competitive environment, ensuring that experienced players always have new combinations and strategies to explore. Visually, the game captures the dark, war-torn atmosphere expected from the Warhammer universe. The detailed card artwork faithfully recreates legendary heroes, terrifying enemies, and memorable moments from the lore, while battle animations and sound effects enhance the intensity of each encounter. The user interface remains clean and intuitive, making it easy to manage card collections, construct decks, and navigate various game modes. Although the presentation focuses more on functionality than visual spectacle, it consistently reinforces the grim tone that defines the setting. The free-to-play structure is generally balanced, allowing dedicated players to steadily expand their collections through regular gameplay, daily objectives, and event rewards. Purchasing premium content can accelerate progression, but success is determined far more by strategic thinking and deck knowledge than by simply owning the rarest cards. New players may need patience while building their collections, yet the game provides enough opportunities to remain competitive without requiring constant spending. Competitive play is where Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions truly excels. Ranked matches feature a wide range of deck archetypes, encouraging players to adapt as the metagame evolves through balance updates and new expansions. Victory depends not only on understanding your own faction but also on anticipating your opponent's tactics, making experience and thoughtful planning far more valuable than luck alone. The developers' continued support through regular content additions and balance adjustments helps maintain an active and evolving competitive environment. Warhammer The Horus Heresy: Legions stands out as both an excellent adaptation of one of Warhammer's most celebrated storylines and a genuinely rewarding digital collectible card game. Its faithful interpretation of the Horus Heresy, deep strategic gameplay, diverse factions, extensive deck-building possibilities, and ongoing stream of new content create an experience capable of satisfying longtime Warhammer fans as well as players looking for a sophisticated competitive card game. While the gradual progression system and steep learning curve may require commitment, the rewarding gameplay, strong thematic presentation, and impressive tactical depth make it well worth the investment. Rating: 6/10
Thanks for the memories Everguild and fellow gamers. I played from Andriod only Beta all the way to Terra. I collected every single Legacy card and just didn't have it in me to go a second time around. I'll appreciate this game for what it was and remember the good times more than the frustrating times. 8 years was a good run, glad to have been here while it was.
I miss Warpforge...
