The beginning of the game might be rough, but the rest of it, when you learn the movement, the modding system and every system it works so well together. If you read this and think about if you wanna try to or not, I will tell you this. Its free, you can earn everything f2p. So give it a shot.

When you see a game that is free to play, you generally expect it to be trying to get you to buy microtransations at every turn. Gacha games want you to buy pulls, there's cosmetic skins, etc. etc. Usually, if a game is Free To Play, your experience is sub-par if you don't shell out a little bit of cash. Warframe is not that kind of game. As I've been playing, I've looked. I've researched. And what I've found is two things. 1: The amount of content available completely for free that doesn't require you to purchase an additional pass or expansion or DLC is.... everything. Literally everything. Every single part of gameplay can be experienced completely for free. 2: Almost alll the cosmetics, that are not community created collaborations which I expect are subject to other rules for proper compensation, can be obtained for the low low price of... free. There is very, very little that this game pushes and expects you to spend money on. Is there an in-game shop? Yes. Is there an in-game currency you can purchase with real money? Yes. But you can trade items you earn in-game for free for that in-game currency. And there is a very friendly and welcoming community that is very willing to help. Warframe is a breath of fresh air in an industry where the big publishers are desperately trying to squeeze every cent they can from gamers' wallets. So I'm more than happy to voluntarily spend money on this game, not because I *need* to in order to progress, but because this game seems to be made by people who care about making a good product for their players first.
