This game reminds me of BF1 but as cool and visual as it was, it was only 15 minutes. This game is a concept and as other VR small short clips are, this should be free to play. Everyone deserves this experience but since there is a price tag on this game, not everyone will experience it in VR.
Very short and lacking at times. Best parts were when the experience was more artistic with its representation of the war. When it tried to simulate an actual event the lackluster graphics took away from the immersion. Dan Carlin was a fantastic choice for narration and felt like a natural fit. Buy it when it's half off.
Not a game but a series of set pieces that put you in the trenches of World War 1. . If you're a fan of Dan Carlin's "Hardcore History" podcast you'll enjoy Dan narrating the set pieces Inspired by his "Blueprint for Armageddon" series which I also recommend you take a listen to if you can find it on Youtube. One quote that really got me was: "with the thousands of exploded shells still on these battlefields today, if a modern day clean up crew gets killed in the process of disposing of these weapons, can they be considered casualties of WW1?" 'I am no longer an artist interested and curious, I am a messenger who will bring back word from the men who are fighting to those who want the war to go on for ever. Feeble, inarticulate, will be my message, but it will have a bitter truth, and may it burn their lousy souls.’ -Lt. Paul Nash Painter and British Infantry in WW1
15 minutes experience in the shoes of a world war one solider that is intense, dark, depressing, and beautiful. Narrated by Dan Carlin whom make anything darker and better. loved it even if there were 0 interactions from us the "players" and the graphics weren't that realistic, i think better textured assets would've made this experience much more real and intense and 15 minutes were way too short, an hour would've been perfect.
Very short VR experience about the Great War written and narrated by Dan Carlin. Since it's a simple "3D movie", my only complain is the apparent lack of a repositioning or re-centering option while it's playing out.
This isn't a game. It's the future of movies. It's about a 30 minute experience that showcases what VR can do for both the classroom and even the nature of documentaries. They'd probably do better in sales if they made this for the Oculus Quest standalone. There's not enough people on Steam for VR despite Alyx.
It woud be cool if it was longer but it is a good documentery
Along with '1943 Berlin Blitz' this should be a compulsory experience for all school history classes. Slightly showing its age but still very worthwhile.
Short, but worth it. Dan Carlin's Hardcore History has always been wonderful, but to add the VR aspect to Dan's words just made it all the better. I hope they create more. It gave me goosebumps.
