Wandering Trails: A Hiking Game

Although I have only logged for a few minutes, I can already tell this game was made from the heart. The game does transport you on a hiking trail, a journey, to a place that you may have been to before, if you are an outdoors type of person. The environment does put my imagination to one of the many parks and forest that I've been to in my life. There is a sense of being "disconnected" from the humdrum of the world, and puts you in a place of nature and beauty. This is a pure walking/hiking simulator so if one expects to do anything else like hunting or digging up stuff, then this is not the game you want to dwell in. The game description makes it very clear that this is a peaceful experience- something most of us hopefully yearn for. There are no achievements to grind for, there are no jumpscares so don't expect anything else. Enjoy this game for what it is. This is pure simplicity in its mechanics but has this deep and complex impact mentally and emotionally, and dare I say even spiritually, a rarity in virtual simulators. Support the devs, support this game. And no I do not work for any company or with the studio. I'm just an old gamer looking for something to "disconnect" me from the noise.

Like its Title " Wandering Trails " is a walking Simulator where you wander in a National Park. If you like relaxing walking simulators where your only goal is to explore then I recommend this new title Wandering Trails: A hiking game. Explore the park in dynamic environment (night, day, rain, wind). There are no goals to the game other than to explore. There are two watch towers, a few animals, ponds, trees, rocks, bridges. [h1] Зачем? [/h1] Друзья! Зачем мы играем в симуляторы ходьбы? Лично для меня овеет простой - это чаще всего медитативная история, с очень приятно проработанным миром, музыкой и чаще всего прекрасной историей. Она может быть грустной, может быть даже страшной или наоборот заставит улыбнуться. Погружаясь в подобные миры и истории мы переживаем то, чего лишены в обычной, повседневной жизни. Как итог: мы получаем новый опыт и новые эмоции. Зачем авторы выпустили эту игру? Лично я так и не нашёл ответа на этот вопрос. Фотоаппарат в игре попросту не нужен, мы не можем посмотреть фото, которые сделаны, да и уровень детализации объектов или плейс оф интрест, на мой взгляд не подразумевает просмотр фотокарточек. Нас отправляют на тропу, в поход, что бы погулять по живописным местам, увидеть их с высоты птичьего полёта или посмотреть на руины! Вроде бы, что может пойти не так?! Да, всё! Зачем мне фотоаппарат, ответа в итоге один, что бы получить ачивку. Для всего остального он просто не нужен. Зачем в игре башни\вышки? С них в ночное время суток ничего не видно, а детализация, её прорисовка и летающие озёра не дают ни какого наслаждения и в дневное время! Для ачивок! Зачем в игре руины\развалины? Для них нет ни каких описаний, истории, вообще ничего нет, про детализацию я в итоге написал. Ты гуляешь по парку, только для того, что бы получить ачивки от башен и руин, при этом не испытывая ни какого наслаждения. Ребятам спасибо, что сделали проект и не испугались выделить часть ключей для обзорщиков, но вам есть над чем поработать. As a fan of non standard gameplay, I wanted this to be good. Unfortunately, there is nothing to explore and the animals do not react to your presence. It is just an empty map with nothing to find or photograph. Sigh. https://youtu.be/IAqLejYVCbw

Looks, feels and plays like a zero to low effort asset flip of a Unity Asset forest map. ..I want to thank the developer for offering me a free evaluation key, but as I've said many times before, free keys never influence my opinion or review of any game. MY SCORE: Zero. ..NOT Recommended.

The game has a lot of potential, but needs more work. Especially when it comes to environmental details and interesting spots to visit. Also the color scheme should be revised and made a bit more natural for a better atmosphere. I like the idea of the game, but in the current state I can not recommend it.

This is a nice game I spend some time in, I enjoyed my relaxed peaceful fast walk in nature, explored several locations and even found a lookout when night fell. The park is way bigger then I expected and I still have a lot of ground to cover which I will do for sure. I did miss birds though, maybe they are there and I didn't notice them, can't really tell. The maps were a bit unreadable for me and most I saw didn't really show where I was or where I started. Honestly, that doesn't matter at all, the adventure in itself does.

I can't wholeheartedly recommend this game. It may be a cheap walking simulator, but it feels like you are running through the forest not walking. It also crashed on me

This could have been a good game, but its not, and its horrible dashing up and down mountains at top speed! Its certainly not wandering and nor is it relaxing, the scenery misses being soothing by a mile, and worse still, the devs do not appear to be interested in anything anyone has to ask them and do not respond. You could look elsewhere, and do a lot better!
