Kinetic af!
I wanted to like this game because the premise was interesting but I couldn't force myself to finish it. The voice acting is alright, although pretty lifeless, from everyone other than the main character. His voice doesn't match his expressions or his dialogue. Why does bro sound so mad all the time 😭??? And the whole 'You're my daughter but also we look like we're married!!' thing is super icky and I can't think of a reason that this would be included other than it's the developer's poorly disguised f3tish. But hey, if you're chill with that then go ahead and pick it up. At least the music's good.

What a story!!!!! one of the best free kinetic novel I have read so far!!!! Kou and Chiyo had my feelings all over the place
I liked the artwork even though I skipped the whole game. If you love these type of games I recommend you trying this game out.
"Burn in hell my 'best friend'!"

Based
Wander no more is a kinetic novel based in a fictional version of feudal Japan. It follows the story of Kouichirou, a samurai captain of the Kodoyashi - who abandons his position to prevent violence and bloodshed - and Chiyo, an innocent girl caught in the crossfire of the Kodoyashi's destruction.
Gameplay
This is a kinetic novel, a visual novel with linear progression and no dialogue/action choices. This leads you through a single story and ending. It is fully-voiced in English, which may be a positive for some. If this doesn't suit you, you can change the volume of the dialogue, music and even change the text speed in the settings - always a useful feature. You can also choose to have to dialogue move ahead on it's own, rather than clicking. The art style is beautiful, the backgrounds appear like watercolours and the characters are drawn tall, pointed and elongated with matching cool and warm toned colours. They are very pretty designs and I love the way their clothes are drawn.
Story
The idea behind the tale told is interesting. It puts you in the heart of the desolation of a small village and describes how the individuals get to know one another, rebuild the village and help it's new inhabitants. Kouichirou wants to protect the village and help rebuild it to allow individuals to live in peace, and will take care of those who are persecuted by his old comrades. With his little skills, he has help from Chiyo who can help gather food. Sadly what lets it down is the tendency to try to pair up 'Chiyo' (a 15 year old girl) and Kouichirou (The 24 year old). They begin in a parent-child relationship after her parents have been slaughtered but after a tiny time skip (only a year) there are plenty of references to them being paired as a couple, which comes across as creepy. a 15 year old and a 24 year old may not be unusual in this time period, but the way they go about pairing them up with the anime-style cliches is cringey, and doesn't fit with the seriousness and depth of the story. The way they reference each other is also weird (Papa). It doesn't help that the voice acting is cheesy - I ended up turning the volume off and reading the dialogue myself (points for this option in the settings). It would have helped choosing less high pitched tones and speeding up the pacing so it appeared as if they were genuinely conversing. I understand if the young girl is childlike, but the 'captain' should sound distinguished. It leads to the conversations sounding insincere. I wish I could give the game a neutral rating but if it has to fall on one side, I'm afraid it falls below the line. Although I liked the story and art, the creep factor made me consider close this before I'd gotten to the end. I pushed through, but this proves it wasn't an enjoyable experience for me. I hope others will find the game more enjoyable, as it is still a high quality production for it's free price.
