Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my initial impressions review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/EON9i5M5f1k I like this game, but I also hate it. There are several cool things about this game, but it seems like every other step is a frustrating one. I'm not sure it's worth it to buy this game, even at the budget-price. Still, given that I paid less than $5 USD (40% off the $7.99 USD normal price), I think I can give it a neutral recommendation. Warning though: do NOT buy this game unless you're okay with dealing with overall jank. This game would need a lot of polish, before it would be a good farming game. It's just super clunky all the way around. Although the dev mentions an open-world farming adventure,. it's not. It's a collection of pseudo-mini-game type micro-farming experiences. The coolest thing is definitely driving around in your tractor. Unfortunately, the high fuel costs & insane repair costs will have you repeating earlier, easier chores to make up the difference. That's a shame because as much as I enjoyed driving around, it was expensive to do so. Plus, the tractor operation has its own issues. The upgraded tractor is too sensitive with steering. Every bump in the road feels too rough. The steering wheel just doesn't turn enough. The other activities range in fun from outright boring to somewhat fun. Some have you just go to market and pick up objects and move them. Others have you milking cows, or moving goats to a watering hole & back or feeding the chickens and picking up their eggs or repairing a broken fence. All the activities are super simple with very basic VR interactions. The visuals are just passable. The sounds are not good. The walking speed is too slow. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs, other than items falling outside the area where you can pick them up. You do have full locomotion and snap turning. The locomotion is too slow though (tip change it from walk to slide). The snap turn angle of turn is too small. Like I said, I only paid a little less than $5 USD. At that price, I didn't expect much and the game delivered on that front I think. However, don't buy it if you're expecting a smooth or polished experience. Rate 5/10.
If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator Group.
