I was not expecting this at all. You look at the thumbnail and see a burning church and you figure it just says "religion = bad" but it was so much more than that. The writer took great care curating how religion is shown in this world, and how it can change into something else from it's roots. There was a little play in the game that actually shows where the religion started and then you step out side and see what it's become. The story wasn't religion = bad. it was take time to understand one another. it was well written. In other areas. the game is slightly slower than their last one, but packs a lot more into it. Visuals are clean. you can see the advancements made, all the way down to how the menus feels. The music once again was great. It was really nice seeing what songs the developer did themselves and they made it into the game. The addition of the side stories or something was really nice too. Not just seeing the thoughts and struggles of the player characters, but the people in the world as well. It brought different perspectives to the table and I really enjoyed it. I'm also enjoying the historical themed stories mixed with an element. I'm guessing that's what the dev is doing. If not. Do more of it. Once again. 4 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed it.
Really enjoyed this one. It’s a small indie RPG, but you can tell a lot of care went into it. The story is the standout—dark, a bit philosophical, and kept me interested the whole way through. Combat is simple but has enough going on to stay fun, and I liked that the game doesn’t overstay its welcome. If you’re into short, story-driven RPGs, this is definitely worth your time.
