Victorian Mysteries: The Yellow Room

I recommend this game, but only with reservations. Be aware that the interface can be quite touchy - in an early scene, you need to use a bucket of water to put out a fire, and it took several attempts for me to find just the right spot to click in order for it to register. This issue occurred in multiple games. One other quibble (and it is a minor one): when a puzzle requires multiple similar items to solve (e.g. scraps of paper), there is no way of knowing if you have all of them other than going to the puzzle, putting in the pieces you have, and then checking if it will let you play. So, it can get frustrating running back and forth to the puzzle to see if you finally have all of the bits. On the plus side, the artwork is quite nice, and the mystery story is engaging, which made me want to keep pushing through to see how it all turned out.

I really wish I could've played it, the beginning was very promising. But during some HOG scene my screen was just frozen & after reboot I decided to request a refund

It is a really good HO game with nice puzzles and a strange and IMO crappy end sequence :)

Ludicrous meaningless plot which had you going round in circle. Control system not helpful, cumbersome and dull.

A bit hard. Better game than thought

A well done if primitive HOG. The minigames were easy, but competent. The hidden object scenes were very well done - although there were not a lot of them. The story was a bit melodramatic, but since its based on a Victorian mystery, what would one expect. Only one minor problem: one of the puzzles (car) would not register properly, so I restarted the game and it worked fine.

I think this game is quite interesting, I love looking for things.

No fast travel, no clear indicators on the map of where to go if stuck, no hints outside of the HOS part of the game, and no clear instructions on the puzzles. I love HOGs but this one was annoying to play. Doesn't help my opinion that the game crashed when I was about three puzzles from finishing the game for good. No idea if my progress was saved. Dark Parables are better HOGs to play.
