This game has good quality puzzles. Some of them, like the sliding pieces puzzles, I knew I would get it right if I played long enough so I just hit solve puzzle to continue in the game.
Really nice relaxing puzzle game grounded in real world astronomy lore. Like how the movement of the stars could be predicted one thousand years ago.
fun, light hearted, and educational! I'm loving it tbh!

For the puzzle with the Astrolabe and the box with the 4 rotating dials on it, its a bit buggy making it look like the answer is one symbol when its actually another. Very frustrating. I then had to wait around for the hints to auto finish it and had my friend review that it was weird.
The dev must have done a factory reset and rolled himself back 20 years, because now he thinks point-and-click games are still popular.
To portray the scientific history of different Islamic scholars in such a fun and interactive way is worthy of appreciation. I am having fun solving all the puzzles. They are mid but fun.
Nice art and you actually learn a lot about history. Its crazy how sophisticated some of these contraptions were hundreds of years ago.
Very similar to The Room and House of Da Vinci series, though the puzzles are a lot simpler generally. given that it's free I can't complain as it looks good, the puzzles are fun, and the story interesting enough. Hopefully this can get some traction and warrant a sequel with bigger, more complex story and puzzles even if they need to charge for it.
Vanished Puzzle Quest is a free, first-person 3D puzzle game set in historic Asian and North African locations. The underlying story is the rediscovery and documenting of the incredible Islamic scientific inventions of the medieval period, while pursuing the evil inventor who has tried to remove all memory of them. At each of eight locations, a number of puzzles have to be solved, and one or more historic devices (clocks, cranes, locks, scales, astrolabes, etc) activated & used, to open up the route to the next city. The game looks very good, the puzzles are plentiful and varied, and the details about the historic inventions are fascinating. Much information is freely provided in the form of scrolls etc, and the overall level of the puzzles is quite easy (perhaps a little too easy), so I felt no need to use the game's hint system, except once at the beginning of a second playthrough to get the associated achievements. The one big exception to the straightforward nature of the puzzles was, in my view, the one using the astrolabe, which took me a long while to understand even with the copious scroll instructions. Overall I enjoyed playing this game, which was only marred by the failure of five achievements to trigger in Steam late in the game, even though on-screen messages said that I had obtained them; judging by the global statistics (and other players' comments), only a few people - probably the developers themselves during testing - have been able to get these five, which is a shame for the rest of us.
Cool little puzzle to do with kids. The puzzles vary from ridiculously easy to entirely incomprehensible. I still don't know how to solve the astrolabe puzzle. CAUTION: if you're an achievement hunter, some of the end game achievements are bugged.
