Now she must beat any foe unlucky enough to cross her path and escape a crazy low-poly world inhabited by strange creatures.

Learn, fail, swear, repeat. No tutorials, no guidance. Just pure, classic arcade
V’s Rage is rooted in the spirit of old-school coin-ops like Final Fight, Altered Beast, and Parodius.
Its visual style is a hand-drawn explosion of ’80s anime energy, a nostalgic tribute to iconic characters like Lum and Ranma.

A mom dragged into arcade game hell
Not only a nostalgia trip to the golden age of arcades, but also colored with hand-drawn art and direction inspired by 80s–90s Japanese anime, that is what “V’s Rage” offers. A stressed mom is dragged into a low-poly world, and the rules change every stage. Belt-scrolling, bike chase, side-scrolling shooting, on-rails type—the developments continue unpredictably with no way to know what comes next. The hand-drawn anime-style characters burst with exaggerated expressions and collide with low-poly background design. Cutscenes are strongly comedic, and enemies such as “smartphone-addicted satyrs” also appear with satire. The overall tone feels like watching a “phantom 80s OVA,” and the art style as a whole has a sense close to Rumiko Takahashi’s drawing. It can be said to show the creators’ love for Japanese animation. The difficulty is intentionally high, with basically no tutorial, designed for you to acquire skills through trial and error and retry. There are hit detections that feel unreasonable and specifications that partially disallow diagonal movement, but those can also be said to be elements that reproduce the “classic arcade feeling.” As you repeat, you learn the patterns, sharpen your reflexes, and the sense of accomplishment when you finally break through becomes a certain one. Each genre’s system itself is simple and not so deep. However, the diverse modes switching in short spans are exactly this work’s charm. From parry-centered brawls to bullet-dodging bike battles, it is a game that packs “the old arcade festival feeling” widely and shallowly but with good tempo. Considering the content, the price is modest, so as a work that reconstructs the passion of 80s–90s anime and the arcade era in a comical yet challenging way, it is surely worth trying especially for players of that generation.
Check out our Steam curator (link) , YouTube channel (link), and X(Twitter) (link)!

A review copy was provided by the developer.
🔶 V’s Rage is a mix of beat them up & shoot them up across 4 different gameplay for a short 3 hours adventures 🔶 Ok tier graphics, nothing incredible but pretty unique because all of them are drawn. Differents types of gameplays (beat them up / third view shooter / shoot them up on a car and on a plane) across 4 different worlds for a total of 16 levels, pretty short game, but well-designed because all levels are different (new atmosphere across a new world) and each of them finish by a unique boss battle. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3583678447 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3583678679 Simple control, but some powerup (more life, shield, more attack power) to collect in a level 2 difficulty setting (Easy & Medium), game is really hard even on easy, because of lack of checkpoint in a level, and beat them up boss are pretty hard, too easily to get damaged in this battle because small attack range of your character and boss often hit you when you damage them … Some cutscene between the level https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3583682288 Overall, V’s Rage is a nice unique short multiples gameplays adventures, with a simple but efficient gameplay, but too annoying because of lack of checkpoints in game, half recommended 💚💚💚 : - All levels are pretty different with 4 types of gameplay - Each level have a unique boss ❌❌❌ : - Rather short game - Beat them up phase are really too hard because on bad hitbox, slow character and close attack range
Follow IndieGems for more reviews like this one. a bit rough around the edges but I seemed to enjoy it! the changing of episodes to different gamemodes was great.
The game is fun, the artwork is beautiful. I find it perfect for Steam Deck. It's a great dive into the arcade world, the challenge is well balanced, and there's always the drive to try again.
Game runs excellent on Steamdeck, graphics look nice with the cartoony style. I like the artwork of the main character, love her hairstyle and outfit. I have played the demo before also, the game is quite hard. There are no checkpoints unfortunately. But the gameplay is fun!
This game kinda looks cool and music sometimes pretty decent but gameplay is very meh and it needs a lot of work
Feels like a copilation of newgrounds games. Its ok, can be fun and challenging but is not for anyone. ♥♥♥♥ those space pigs

This game pushed me to the limits of my sanity at times. In fact, I almost threw in the towel at one point. However, I'm glad I hung in there and got through the whole thing, because despite a few bs gameplay issues, you are actually rewarded for figuring out enemy patterns and implementing the proper strategies. Some sections might feel impossible at first, but if you're patient, you can do it. Not sure how the game plays on easy, but if you're looking for a good challenge, normal will test your mettle more than enough on a first playthrough. Give it a shot please!
