If you like Your Name, this does feel a bit like if it was a game! Has an interesting and emotional story and history, and deals with themes of grief and belonging and growing up in a sweet and thoughtful way. Its 3D backdrops and world are very pretty, and the characters are fun to get to know through their little pixel art animations. It is, however, very slow - it takes a long time to get through all the dialogue and there's a lot of slow cutscenes, as well as minigames which are more annoying than fun. Maybe a common feature of an VN like this, but I do think it could have been less of a timesink. If you like the base game, the DLC is definitely a worthy addition too. It's a nice experience, but a bit clunky, and I found the games even more frustrating in the DLC.

I never post reviews here. I usually just quietly enjoy games for myself. But now? This? There's nothing quiet inside me after I finished this game. It took my hand, made me fall in love, made me panic, made me laugh, confronted me with deepest feelings, made me cry so much, the storms must have envied me for the flood I poured, and it broke my heart so beautifully. Until Then deserves all the love, and I am beyond happy that I was able to experience this. This is one of the best stories I have ever seen. And have seen quite a few. It’s not just a game; it’s an emotional journey that mirrors real life while offering the artistry of interactive storytelling. And yet, the journey isn't over yet after one act. There is still alternate across multiple acts, encouraging players to think, reflect, and anticipate what’s next will happen in the future. That lingering sense of “unfinished” is part of its loop—it keeps the story alive in your mind, reminding you that there’s more to discover, more emotions to feel, more connections to make, and more outcomes. The world hasn't ended yet.
